I thought it might be good for us to try to call in to radio and tv political talk shows, especially today (Monday) & tomorrow (Super Tuesday) to try to counter the media blackout of RP. I realize it's an uphill battle, but it's worth trying, IMO.
National shows (e.g. Rush, Glen Beck, Laura Ingraham, Don Imus, etc.) are great for wider exposure, although local calls in local markets (especially Super Tuesday states--e.g. Tom Finneran, Michael Graham, Howie Carr, Jay Severin in the Boston-area) may be helpful in reflecting support, or at least interest, in that part of the country for RP .
If you think a host or his/her screener won't be receptive to calls from RP callers, you might consider approaching from a more "stealth" perspective ==>
Some possible "covers":
--you're an undecided voter;
--disappointed in the field of GOP candidates
--focus on "traditional" GOP issues that get the talking heads fired up, such as the need for smaller govt, lowering taxes, concern about socialized healthcare; etc.
--you're worried about what will happen if one of the Democratic candidates gets elected
Then once you're allowed through, introduce RP (perhaps slowly at first if you have a host who tends to be overtly hostile to RP).
You might mention:
--how you think RP makes lots of sense (although he's getting no coverage, despite outraising the other GOP candidates last quarter);
--the "mainstream" GOP aspects of his platform which appeal to you (cutting spending; pro-life; stance on immigration; etc).
--how/why you think RP would stand the best chance against Hillary and/or Obama in the general (70% of the country is against this war, and RP voted against it; RP's understanding of economics, important in these economically volatile times; RP's understanding of healthcare, how he would have a better plan than Hillarycare or Obama's plan).
Just a few ideas, if you're up to doing this....
