Based on feedback from a few individuals and our own curiosity, we have created different color schemes for our designs. We value your opinion and so we want you to vote for the design you believe is the most effective for the Austin, Texas market. There are some choices that could be mixed matched between the different color backgrounds as well. We need to go to print soon so once I see a clear design winner we will close the poll. The location consists of two 9 x 30 billboards with a 2 foot gap in between each billboard. We will have both sides of the billboard to enable us to reach both north and south bound traffic on I-35.
Vote and have fun!

"The location consists of two 9 x 30 billboards with a 2 foot gap in between each billboard." The bottom billboard will have the web address.

:DHowdya reply so fast, I just hit submit

The website info is on the huge 9 x 30 billboard underneath. We devote an entire billboard to the web address, primary and phone number.

Oops, my bad. In that case just go with the one I picked plus its white companion.

Now that's better.. Much better than the black one.. With no daylight savings time now, I don't agree with having a black sign as there are more dark hours than daylight hours.

I have heard from marketing experts that black or dark blue backgrounds with yellow or white writing are the most successful. It could be just a rumor but there is something catchy regarding the sharp contrast of colors.

I have no experience in advertising.

But, when I am driving I notice the black and white signs before I do all the others. The white background looks nice on the computer screen but I think the black is going to easier to read quickly (while driving) and draw more attention than the other examples.

I agree that this is a great location! I may have to drive to Austin just to see it!!

Thanks, it came from the heart. I wasn't prepared at all, I just went there to see just how big the grassroots turnout would be and also to pass out info about our website. The turnout was huge and even families with kids were there. I met so many new friends including several old ones like George Humphrey. Jack Blood asked me to speak on stage about Ron Paul Billboards and this was following the last speaker. The amazing final scheduled speaker was Ronnie Paul, Dr. Paul's eldest son! So then I go up there with no preparation in front of a large group of die hard RP supporters and the media. I wasn't nervous until I was up there for about a minute, then it hit me that I was on stage talking:eek:. I was moved by all the applause, support and donations we received during and after this event. I still feel the good energy from that night.

You can now vote for the designs on our website on the Texas Billboards page at this link http://www.ronpaulbillboards.com/id20.html

"The Constitution" could stand to be bigger in the "Legalize..." board. You may have to sacrifice some of the slanted stamped look to fill it, but the "The Constitution" is the message. Otherwise, it may get misinterpreted as a "Legalize Drugs" board from a distance or at a glance during swifter traffic. You could put any number of verbs there to act on "The Constitution" and still drive the point home. "The Constitution" is what you're selling. If anything, the size relationship could be reversed. I'm sure you played with a million possibilities, so my apologies for arm-chairing.

You're doing a beautiful thing.

The actual file for the design is huge and once up on the billboard will look bigger than on the monitor. The word Legalize emphasized will make them stare at the board longer and then their eyes will gravitate to the info at the bottom. This will probably cause people to look in their rear view to see what the other side says as well. In Austin, this will work in a big way. There are several clever billboards in the same area and around town that get the most attention.

Thanks for the support and suggestions. I don't want to make my graphics guy work any harder. He is working on some new designs for our mobile billboard trucks and future billboards as it is.

Looks like all black for both sides of billboards is winning out.

For those not in Austin, there are several billboards on I-35 with the same color scheme and they look great. Especially with the background of the light blue washed out skyline. The highway is elevated so really you see light sky and clouds in the background and something dark really contrasts the scenary making it very noticeable. It's illuminated at night so it will be visible and also the letters being white stand out more in the dark compared to the other ads I see that are reversed. All I do now a days is study billboards when driving and gauge there effectiveness. The dark background with white letters most instances looks better and stands out from the others.

So which one do you like? All white or top white and bottom blue.
The funny thing is that there was at least one person just as vocal as you are saying they thought the one you just posted was ugly too.

That is why we are having a democratic process in selecting design

I just dont know how you can support a black billboard when it's dark outside most of the time due to the season.. It's not daylight savings time season..

Think about more exposure.. White background with blue letters is the way to go.. The south Carolina billboard is perfect (the one that says republican for president) above.

I love those designs as well, but there was at least one individual just as vocal as you that white was bad and black with white fonts is good.

Your opinion is noted we hear ya loud and clear. I like em all!

Don't worry all white might win out!

I work nights from 7pm to 7am so I always view these at night and I have to say that the white words stick out more. We will go with the design that receives the most votes.
Also I'm going to take pictures of the billboards on the I 35 corridor at night and day so you can see what I'm talking about. With them being illuminated it makes the letters stick out even more. With the night sky in the back ground the white letters jump out at you don't you think? I see these every night and will post some just for you.

We all want the best impact for Ron Paul Billboards
