View Full Version : The Plan: How To Make Up The $3.2 Million Shortfall By Feb 5th

Hi Folks

Here's the deal. At time of writing, Ron Paul's donations fall $3.3 million SHORT of his requested target of $8.4 million by February 5th.

I don't want to discuss WHY here... let's just acknowledge this as FACT.

So how can this gap be plugged?

Right now, there are 16,461 precinct leaders.

If every precinct leader were able to find just 2 NEW DONORS who could contribute $100 (or more), that would be...

32,922 new donors @ $100 each = $3,292,200

... which is virtually the same amount as the shortfall!

So the KEY, in my opinion, to making up the shortfall by February 5th, is to encourage this 16,000+ army of precinct leaders (as well as everyone else) to find just 2 NEW DONORS who could put $100 towards Ron Paul's campaign.

I think this plan would work... IF everyone were to put finding 2 NEW DONORS as their SECOND priority (after canvassing and getting voters, of course!)

So what do you guys and gals think?

If everyone of us (including the 16,000 precinct leaders) put it into the perspective of finding just 2 NEW DONORS @ $100...

... we will hit Ron Paul's requested target!

If you think this is a good plan, say 'aye (and "bump" is also a good word).

:D

How about everyone who is not a precinct leader do something for heaven's sake, like max out their total? :)

ABSOLUTELY!

I am not a precinct leader (circumstances don't permit), but I'll do my bit here by contributing another $200 on or before the 5th. I know everyone can't afford to max out, but PLEASE don't give up on this effort. $5...$10...ANYTHING you can scrape up!

The fact that this shortfall even exists is appalling. We cannot allow Ron's call to go unanswered.

I agree. I'm just suggesting that maybe convincing 2 NEW SUPPORTERS to Ron Paul to part with $100 is easier than convincing them to part with $2,300.

Either way, to plug the $3.3 million shortfall we need either...

33,000 x $100 = $3.3 million

or...

1,440 x $2,300 (max) = $3.3 million

... or some combination of both.

I'm thinking in marketing terms here. I think it's a lot easier to convince 33,000 people to part with $100... (although I'd also love 'em to part with $2,300!)

this is a good idea. Im so broke. trying to run a business, that $100 can seriously hurt (and did on Dec 16th). This is why the donation shortfall- PEOPLE ARE HURTING- thats their food and gas money, heat-bill money.

it is a "good investment" i know. i think we all agree the money to paul would return to us 10 fold if he wins.

I am willing to try though to get 2 - $100 doners. ill keep taps on this thread.

I'm hurting, I didn't donate one the 1st, instead I saved my $51 in case we need it on the 5th

We are very close to Super Tuesday now. We have given Ron another 5 million. The ads are already purchased. Let's not panick right now. Just do our best to get the vote out at this point. As Ron has said, after Feb 5 we will see where we are. If he does great, money flood in. If it looks like the nomination is out of reach, we start the independent run!
