View Full Version : Obama = weakness tonight

Anyone else think that obama really really really sucked tonight. He usually dodges the issues, talks about "change", and makes a very good speech that gets the sheeple fired up. Tonight he appeared lost and confused. His answers were all over the place. He seemed like he was shook up or something.
I am all against Obama on the issues, but he is usually a good speaker. I thought he spoke very poorly tonight. Anyone else think this? Just me?

He seemed off. I not sure what it was but his responses were not inspiring (as they usually are). Instead they were mostly filled with real content which he has very little of and not his best material. He loses the battle when he talks about the real issues and his solutions.

No coaching, no pep rally, true character comes out.
He is probably a good person, but is NOT experienced enough to be viable.
He needs more time in the fire to have an understanding of what makes the world go around.
He and Billary are WAY out of touch with the pulse of the country...lucky for them most of their followers are too...but more americans ARE waking up daily!
The tide HAS to shift, it just has to shift. We are flat out running out of money.
Whoever gets the nod for the pres will be forced to deal with it sooner or later, I just pray it is somebody with some sense and the ability to solve the problem.

All I ever hear from Obama or Clinton is: we will borrow some more money and solve all your problems for you.

I think you saw the weakness of Obama tonight. He can make good speeches when in front of a crowd and he doesn't have to answer questions.
However, put him in a debate, or in an interview, and he becomes quite dull and boring, and he always seems hesitant with his answers (which usually seem kind of calculated). I guess whenever he is actually directly questioned, it becomes evident that he doesn't really hold any positions of merit (in my humble opinion).
Hillary also has calculated answers, but she is able to speak well in interviews and debates; however, in her speeches, she sounds like a robot.
So, they are both the same in terms of having empty or poor proposals, but they are opposites in their speaking abilities.

Exactly. Obama is a political athlete and requires training, memorization, you name it. He is drastically under- prepared for 1:1 interviews (inexperience), and it definitely showed tonight. Barry Obama is a terrible public speaker in this format. I just don't think he has the relational skills to be a president. Yes he has an image, that's why all of the democrats in the audience said they were voting for him.
If you want to get really conspiratorial, one *could* say that this little debate was a test by the higher ups to see how Ron Paul would do stacked up to the Dems. I think this will prove to work out very well for us if we keep it in mind for future youtubes for campaign commercials. And they included live polls on each candidate. Then the guy applauds us for our tech savvy. This was a freaking test to see how powerful Ron Paul supporters are in a general election against either of the democratic nominees. Either way, they planned it out really well and added enough visual distractions to make it seem like your typical MTV show.
They used Huck again, I feel so bad for him!

Maybe I'm wrong, but what I was reading into Obamas body language was calculating. He knows Tuesdays just around the corner, and although this wasn't a huge debate platform if he said anything at all controversial it would have been all over the MSM tonight. It was also a much harder format to dodge the questions and get away with it.
I thought it seemed like he was hanging on every word he said, making sure the next one was vanilla enough not to rock the boat.

I was surprised at how poorly Obama did. I don't agree with him but he is usually more charismatic. I think the big difference we saw tonight was the difference between truth/lies and experience/inexperience.
Hillary=experienced liar.
Obama=inexperienced liar.
Ron=experienced truth teller.
Huckabee (I missed it and have to watch)

I was also very surprised by his seemingly lack of charisma tonight... I thought he was way off his rhythm. He didn't sound like the guy who could bring about change, as one of my managers has suggested. He was like "such-and-such, uhhh, blah-blah-blah, uhhh, and uhhh...."
After a while, my wife alerted me to it, and from then on, the "uhhh's" were all I could hear.
weird.

Tell you what-- Obama's poor performance tonight makes Ron Paul look extremely presidential.

Did you hear him say the part about taking the national service that citizens will participate in and build schools all around the world? Last I checked, our education funding is being slashed everywhere?!?!?

not one thing that obama or clinton says makes any sense. all the democrats focus on is how its 'their turn' or some bullshit and they're going to transcend race and gender and all this bullshit on and on...
i think we should get our money sorted out and end war subisidies to the whole world and then we can all be transcendent together...
did anyone notice how hillary said 'sea change' after Ron did? when hillary starts copying Ron you know we are getting somewhere...
i think part of the reason obama did so poorly is because he probably watched Paul's Q&A and it unnerved him...You can tell Obama is a product of the ivory tower by the way he just drones on and on and on...reminds me of why i didn't go to graduate school, thank god...

Well we can all hope that this change in Obama's inspiring speach and answers will be a real and lasting one. People might see that he can bullshit with the best of them, clergy men and politicians.
If you want to get really conspiratorial, one *could* say that this little debate was a test by the higher ups to see how Ron Paul would do stacked up to the Dems
If so -- it proved he could annihilate them.
As soon as Paul finished speaking, and Obama came on; the intellectual gap between the two was glaringly obvious.
Paul was clearly the master; whereas Obama was clearly just an amateur.

He sounded the same to me. Lame. He just wasn't speaking up because he had no audience. The content was the same. He also had some live negative approval polls right in his face.

100% agree. And as another poster pointed out, Hillary stole Ron's "sea change" line. I wonder what this means?

Yup I sure did notice that. She must have been listening to him. :) Hillalry the "phrase robber" just like Huckabee robs ideas.
Someone commented on feeling bad for Huck. Not me. He was complaining about being the one who had to answer all the God questions. Well, duh, who was it who made, and is it who makes such a huge issue of God in his campaign?????????

This is not a change. I noticed it in a couple debates.
He does not do well in the debate format for the same reasons as have been mentioned here. He is all about image and glitz with no substance.
Hillary is right in that respect, but then so is she all about lack of substance insofar as any real solutions worhty of mentioning, smae old-same old, Only difference is she is a more polished speaking automaton.

of course they never say how they intend to pay for all the crap they want to do. anyone with half a brain should know that borrowing or printing money is how it would be done.

My observations:
1) Paul was awesome. They asked him tough, leading questions about how government should be bigger and he just told them the truth about why it shouldn't.
2) I loved watching Obama get shot down with the online polls almost as much as I loved watching RP win them. Obama definitely thought he had the MTV demographic locked up. Welcome to the revolution, Barack.
3) I think RP actually took the "sea change" line from hillary and obama saying it earlier in the campaign. Smart move on his part, because he knows its their rhetoric that MTV viewers have been hearing, yet he's the one who actually represents change.
Even though I think he talks a little fast sometimes, RP is fantastic at answering BS questions and turning them back to his advantage. I wasn't around during Goldwater's day, but RP has got to be the best spokesman for individual liberty in the last 40 years at least, even better than Reagan.
