Typical reponse:

Him: I've voting for fellow Vietnam Vet, John "Wayne" McCain.
Me: Why not Ron Paul?
Him: He's an independent with good ideas, but would never win. I'm voting McCain to offset my wife's Hillary vote.

No joke.

Give 'um a Veterans for Ron Paul Slim Jim.

I just started canvassing today, and it went great. Can't wait until tomorrow to do some more.

and I am not an outgoing people person by nature.

Go back and tell him this is the PRIMARY, and his vote does not "offset" one for Hillary.

If anything his vote for McCain enhances her vote for Hillary..

Ron Paul is also a Veteran. He has morals and doesn't pimp it like McCain, though.

Thanks for the tips - he already is converted. What I'm trying to say is, there are 100 MILLION people like him out there. If YOU don't get out and canvass we will NEVER win these people over. NEVER NEVER NEVER.

I agree, there is just something that clicks when people see supporters like us willing to knock on doors and ask for their vote. A certain number of them come over just by virtue of that alone.
