I have just set up a simple pledge collector as you can see on the sidebar, and on the homepage. This is a good way for us to make sure everyone has a chance to show their support now without having to feel worried about any money changing hands until we get all of that situated. I’ll program a counter for the pledges. Once we get new accounts all set up and a safe repository for donations, we’ll convert the counter to monitor actual donations and send out an email to all those that pledged, instructing them on how to donate.

E-mails are validated to be in proper format. Amounts are validated to be in proper format. IP address is logged. A unique verification code is generated. A link is sent to the email provided. That link must be clicked within 7 days to verify a pledge. The link must be clicked from the same IP address that made the pledge request. If the same user returns and enters the same e-mail address, he/she will be able to update the pledge. If an update request comes from a new IP address, a re-verification will be generated, and a new email link sent. If an update request is made on a pledge that is awaiting verification, a re-verification will be generated, and a new email link sent.
