View Full Version : Need a Summers County Resident to carry proxy
Hi all, I'm desperately trying to find someone in Summers County that can carry a proxy to Charleston on Tuesday for Ron Paul... having a hard time finding someone on my own.

Suggestion; if there is a precinct leader for your county, check and see if they identified any Ron Paul supporters in the county. If so, ask one of them if they could go.
If there isn't a precinct leader, it would be wonderful if you could fill that roll. If you do, you will be provided with a list of every registered GOP and Undeclaired/Independent voter for your county. You will have to start making calls to those people, and hopefully, you will come across a Ron Paul supporter that would be an alternate.
I don't know what else to tell you at this point. Time is of the essence and no one has stepped up to the plate yet. I guess you are the lone Ron Paul delegate for Summers County? I only see one listed on the latest update.
I myself am the lone delegate for him in Summers County, my husband sits on the local GOP committee and is now working out of state, making it impossible for him to attend with me. The good thing is that my GOP Committee leader found someone at the last moment, so count two votes for Ron Paul from Summers County. I can also tell you that three others that are on the committe and are attending were Thompson/Gulianni supporters, I'll do my best to sway them on the 2 hour ride up there today :)

Mak be sure to explain to them regardless of how they feel about the war the bottom line is we CAN'T afford it. I've had some luck with some neocons when I explain it to them this way. I point to the dollar and how the prices are going up and it's because of our overseas spending. Just a suggestion. Good luck!

Glad to hear the good news! Hope that you are, or will consider, precinct leader position.

I've thought about, but it's tough here, we are a tiny county, very rural. On top of that I'm not originally from here so I am hitting brick walls left and right because I'm seen as an outsider. But I'm open to any suggestions on how to bust through it :)

First step: sign up at the campaign website
Second step: download data, phone #s, etc.
Third step: make calls and read the provided script. The person will not know your identity, other than first name, you are a data gatherer not a salesperson.
Fourth step: after you identify Paul supporters or potantials, then you get slim jims, etc. to them.
Fifth step: tell identified supporters to become a precinct leader, or at the very least, they should spread the word.
Sixth step: call voters the day before and election day; make sure they get to the polling place
I live in a very remote and rural area also, don't let that stop you, voters are everywhere. Good luck!
