Here is something that I am doing that is not spam. I send out an email about every two weeks (so as not to overload and annoy recipients) on something new about Ron Paul. The top of the message is something new, and the bottom is a repeat of great Ron Paul info and YouTube moments.

In the next thread I will attach my two most recent emails (stole some thunder from this board on my most recent topic).

Who do I send it to? I started with friends and family by ASKING them if they wanted to receive an email every few weeks on Ron Paul. They always say sure. I then ask anybody - people I work with, people I meet out socially, where ever, if they would like to receive this email. I have two Yahoo email accounts. I send it from one Yahoo account to the other Yahoo account and BLIND COPY everyone else. I currently email 142 people. Only two have indicated they wanted to "unsubscribe" and I have been doing this for two months.

My thought - if all 30,000 MeetUp people do this for 100 people, that is 3 million people reached! Now, several people on my distribution list have indicated they have been forwarding my emails to other people. THIS is where it could snowball and multiple-millions of people could get this email.

Thoughts on whether this is a good idea? I think it has merit. Everybody - feel free to use the below email and edit as you see fit. Just don't spam people - ask permission first. Start with family and friends and move out from there. The key is to come up with something of interest about Ron Paul every two weeks (not hard at all) while keeping a solid and consistent message in the base of the email that is the same.

Also, how do I spread this idea to all the MeetUp groups?

Hello everyone!

Last debate, Giuliani gave Ron Paul a HUGE boost when he attacked Paul by saying he had never heard that our flawed Middle East policies help motivate Islamic extremists in regards to 9/11 (scroll down for the past "Ron taking it to Rudy" vid), with Ron Paul later having a press conference on the books, such as the 9/11 Commission Report and others that Giuliani needed to read to educate himself to that fact.

From the below exchange this morning, Willard "Mitt" Romney just gave Dr. Paul even more ammo as there is absolutely NO evidence of Iraqi involvement in 9/11, let alone Iraq having had weapons of mass destruction. It appears that Romney, like Giuliani, wants to win on mass deception and fear mongering, but the crowd cheering on Ron Paul did not buy it.

Even the left wing gate-keepers over at HuffPo live-blogged it this way:

JOHN: Ron Paul is not only animatedly saying we should get out of Iraq -- he is getting whoops of unbridled enthusiasm from this Republican primary audience for it. This party is in trouble.

DREW: Ron Paul got a lot of applause for his line about how our troops ought to "just come home." Is this a Democratic or Republican primary? We're really seeing here the fault lines of what has happened when the conservatives have held complete power for several years, actualized their goals, and now we're seeing what they really want and really do when they govern. If Democrats have any sense in the next election, they will make sure that every Republican who has rubberstamped George W. Bush--which is virtually every one of them who is currently in office--is tied to what he has done domestically and internationally.

RACHEL: Yes, but it was not altogether a fair swipe — the Dems aren't even pausing to say thank you? Tsk. Honestly, I think Ron Paul is the one to watch these days. The line between the Internet and the so-called "real" world blurs more every day, and he is a juggernaut there. And those were real cheers.

Ron Paul's Record ---

The war in Iraq: Ron Paul voted against it from the beginning, recognizing the folly of nation-building and unconstitutional police actions that masquerade as legitimate wars while showing the good judgment that initially eluded most of the top Democratic presidential contenders and each and every Republican presidential contender. Unlike many of the top Republican presidential contenders, Ron Paul is now working to end it rather than extend it.

Government spending, debt, and taxes: If you're looking for a true fiscal conservative, look no further than Ron Paul. Most presidential candidates from both major parties call for new government programs, increased spending, and increased debt, even as they propose minuscule tax cuts or a gradual reduction in the budget deficit. Dr. Paul has consistently spoken and voted for reducing government spending, taxes, and debt, and has never voted for an unbalanced budget. It is time for our fiscal policy to be taken out of the hands of an ill-conceived war that has cost the American people hundreds of billions of tax dollars, greedy lobbyists representing exceptionally greedy big businesses that are in bed with politicians/government, excessive foreign aid, and wasteful U.S. government agencies so we can stop our ballooning budget and $9 trillion in debt that will bankrupt not only our government, but the future of our children and grandchildren.

Border Security and Immigration: Ron Paul believes a nation without secure borders is no nation at all. It makes no sense to fight terrorists abroad when the door at home is unlocked. We need to physically secure our borders and coastlines, enforce visas, no amnesty, no welfare for illegal aliens and end birthright citizenship. Current reform packages would still allow over 60 million illegal immigrants into our country, while costing taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars in regards to the entitlements these illegal immigrants receive. Ron Paul believes those waiting in line legally should have their fair shot at the American dream.

Individual liberty: If you believe that government officials have the right to listen in on your phone calls, open your mail, monitor your financial transactions, view your medical records and track your Internet activity, Ron Paul is definitely not your candidate. He voted against the Patriot Act and against the Real ID Act. Dr. Paul will always defer to the fundamental American liberties enshrined in the Bill of Rights, rather than playing on false fears to increase government power and control.

Property Rights: Ron Paul believes property rights are the foundation of all rights in a free society and is against special interests and the government violating property rights and forcing American citizens from their homes, businesses, farms and ranches.

Personal integrity: If you're looking for a candidate who will end politics as usual, and has the record to prove it, consider the following from Ron Paul's presidential website, ronpaul2008.com:

Congressman Ron Paul is a graduate of Gettysburg College and Duke University Medical School. He was a Flight Surgeon in Vietnam and in private practice as an obstetrician he has delivered over 4,000 babies. He has been married for 50 years, has five children, 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, all while managing to fit in ten terms in Congress representing the 14th District in Texas.
Brief Overview of Congressman Paul's Record

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.

Hello everyone!

Per the below link, the question for Ron Paul is whether or not being by far the most searched presidential candidate on the world wide web will translate into votes, and what is interesting is how Ron Paul owns internet searches for the presidential candidates while "scientific" land-line phone surveys of 400 likely voters puts Ron Paul well behind the so-called (by the main stream media) front runners. My guess is that the truth is somewhere in between, and the South Carolina straw poll results in the below link indicate as much. Paul trounces Fred Thompson on the web, but came in second to him in the S.C. straw poll (which admittedly only represented one county in S.C., which is the third primary state after Iowa and N.H. come January.)

The emails look better in person than on this board as I use different sized fonts, use italics, colors etc. - without being to flashy or in your face.

Thoughts on speading this to MeetUps and how to do it?

Agreed. If i received this unsolicited i would consider it spam.

I just ask people I know in person - and I ask them permission and write down their email address in front of them so they are expecting it, but it would also make sense to have an initial top section to new recipients reminding them that they granted permission and thanking them for listening to Ron's message.

Like I said - I send this to 142 people and only two have asked to unsubscribe (guess they did not like Ron's message), with unsubscribing given as an option. As I noted in my post to start this thread I do NOT send this out unsolicited, which would paint a negative picture of Ron. Now, more than a few may just be deleting it even after giving me permission, but many have emailed me back with thoughtful questions on Ron and 6 have indicated they started to forward the email to friends.

Even for those who may be deleting it, as the elections get closer, they may start reading. I am not cocnerned that I am spamming people, and I certainly would not want ANYONE to use this as spam, BUT it could be great viral marketing if 30,000 Ron Paul supporters sent out SOLICITED and ACCEPTED emails like this to 50 or 100 people.

I guess the one concern would be those who might unfortunately decide to use this idea as unsolicited spam, but wouldn't they already be doing that anyway?
