I dont expect this to be any different than any other debate. He'll probably get little to no time like he always has.

I say this with hopes that I'm wrong, though.

Being as it is an MTV sponsored event, it will probably just focus mainly on Obama.

They'll toss Paul a few questions, but I expect this to be a Obama/Clinton debate.

Not much for those two to debate about. Not much for anyone, really, since they're all the same. If they want to make it a fiery debate, they need to give Ron attention.

AlexMerced
02-01-2008, 12:32 PM
it's not a debate each candidate will have their own segment to take questions and address the audience

so each candidate will eitther get 15 minutes or 30 minutes depending if it's a two hour or 1 hour show. I'm hoping for 2 hours.

30 minutes of paul would b grand. sadly he'll probably eb the last segment.

but either way this will be re-run a bajillion times over the next few days.

And why the heck is Edwards showing up?

Edwards won't be there:

"...the forum, the latest in a collaborative series between MTV and MySpace that has so far hosted events with Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, as well as former Senator John Edwards."

McCain won't be there either. They are just pointing out people they have interviewed/spotlighted in the past regarding this election.

the reason why ron paul mumbles his words is because he KNOWS he has roughly 30seconds of debate talk time. so hes trying to say a zillion billion things at a time to get out as much as he can. during speeches he is flawless, they better give him time!!!

Imagine Obama, in the middle of the debate, as Dr Paul stops speaking and the applause rises, gets struck by the Ron Paul awakening, walks slowly over, hugs our good doctor, raises his arm and declares in his big voice -- I am terminating my campaign to join Dr. Ron Paul, Jefferson of our age, the true man of vision, integrity and intellect with no parallel, the only man who can lead us through these perilous times ahead. Long Live Ron Paul. All true Americans, join me in the Ron Paul Revolution.

Thumper

I would think that Ron would be involved in the MTV/Myspace Q&A session. Texas isn't a "Super Tuesday" state so a rally in Victoria doesn't make much sense.

I'm not saying it isnt true, but it doesn't make sense to me.

Is MTV owned by any of the Corps we don't want it owned by?

In otherwords I'm thinking MTV could be that MSM problem solver.. Don't get me wrong, I have despised mtv and blame it for many of the problems with youth who watch it habitually. But if he can sway the youth who watch it and wake them up, it may just drive mtv to be that media outlet we need.

I sure as hell hope Dr Paul shows up there. Because this could be the single biggest event to sway new blood in a long long long time.

He's been debating liberals all along. How would this debate be any different?

zach
02-01-2008, 02:17 PM
This would hopefully be more personal.

It's Obama (it's cool to vote for change!), Hillary (life is a bitch, why vote for one?) and Paul (wait, I thought he dropped out?). These seem to be the main thoughts of students in that age (and some in my college sadly enough), and so I think it's beneficial since it gives more of that relaxed feeling of "My voice is being heard."

McCain did the same thing a while back even though it was just him on stage.

I understand that it's confirmed on Myspace, etc, but when the campaign doesn't say it on the main page, I'm confused.. but they have listed things hours before events so we really can't tell.

02-01-2008, 02:31 PM
Of course you know Dr Paul is gonna have to realllllly dumb down the speeches though. Kinda like instead of:

The value of currency is falling, we need to return to a standards backing.

he should say..

You know that paper in your purse with numbers on them, well they won't get you as many makeovers a week as they used too. We need to fix it so that use you less of them to pay for your boobies and your hair salon visits and your nails. That way you can do those twice a week instead of once! Wouldn't that just be super?

This will make him look very presidential, just like the most recent debate did. Being one of a few makes you look all the more important, especially if he looks like one of two Republicans and there are two Democrats.
