This comedy bit was so much so "tongue in cheek" that my wife at first thought he was making fun of Ron Paul. For some people, it may take a while before the meaning sinks in; my hope is that it will wake up some McCain and Romney supporters.

I think this is worth being "bumped" today since it may go "viral" and help the Ron Paul campaign.

I think ppl who watch the show have figured out that when Colbert defends something its bad for the country and when he attacks it its good for the country.

At least thats how I interpret the show lol.

isn't it kind of bad that the ultra-liberal colbert agrees with ron? That's not something that will win over repubs... Funny though

I know conservatives that like Colbert. Just because you are conservative doesn't mean you lost your sense of humor, or can't realize when other republicans are just talking nonsense.

You left out the beginning where he says, 'Ron Paul laid his two dollar bill on the table."

What President's picture is on the two dollar bill?

Thomas Jefferson, of course. :cool::D

They give two dollar bills as change at Monticello.

Yo! When Napolitano called Colbert "Bill", I literally lost it! I haven't laughed so hard this decade!

"What's that really classic one we've got? "The earth goes around the sun.""

This refers to Galileo, the great mathematician, physicist, and philosopher who was forced to recant his belief that the earth moved around the sun in 1633. The Church insisted that the earth did not move and was the center of the universe.

Colbert is paying Ron Paul the highest of compliments--a place among the great truth tellers of history.

1633, The world is round and the earth revolves around the sun. Satiricly (if thats a correct form of the word satire) Colbert has hit forth the point RP tells the truth.

Although Colbert is a Democrat, I think he could support Dr. Paul. In a serious interview with Larry King (most interviews he gives are in character.) One of the last question Larry asked him was, "What makes a good American?" Very quickly Colbert said, "I like people who leave other people alone." A very telling quote in my opinion.

Colbert gave the president the finger in person. Even Ron hasn't done that.

He was still making fun of Ron's age though; "the earth revolves around the sun!"
Colbert better play nice if he wants to be appointed Secretary of Satire in Paul's cabinet.

Colbert and Stewart might have him on again when his new book comes out.

No it was satire, taking advantage of his age, maybe...but with age comes wisdom. He was saying, "Ron Paul has been right from the beginning on everything."

He was not making fun of Pauls age.

He was demonstrating how RP has been calling stuff for a long time now, gets written off as crazy, and yet he always ends up right.

Colbert was exagerting the length of time Paul has been calling stuff to emphasize the point that, he has more then enough history of calling major events right, for us to start validating his calls already.

Colbert was 150% behind Paul there.

I loved the piece. Thanks for posting it!!! ( the earth revolving around the sun one was the best)

Great piece, thanks for posting.

Too bad there are not a few more in the media and others in positions of influence that would come out and back peace, prosperity and freedom.
