How do you get a screen capture?

On a mac:

Apple-Shift-3 to capture the whole screen to a file on the desktop, called "Picture X", where x counts up from 1. The apple key is technically called the command key, but everyone knows it from the apple graphic as the apple key.

To just capture the window of interest, try:

Apple-Shift-4... cursor will turn into cross-hairs. Press space bar, cross-hairs will turn into a camera. Position the camera over they window you want to capture (it will be highlighted), and click. The result will be saved to your desktop in the same manner as the first example.

In Linux, just click Print Screen. It takes it from there. :D (Sorry, had to throw it in there to make some Windows-copy-paste-into-Paint people jealous)
