Think about it guys... How good would it look if our candidate loses his Congressional seat while running for President.

It is very important that he wins and retains his seat. The media would have a hay day with him losing it.

Isn't it common knowledge that he is running to keep his seat while also running for the Presidency? Texas is one of the few states (thanks to LBJ) that lets this happen.

RP has said all along that he would be doing this. This is one of the reasons why a third party run is not viable. Can't run as an independent for one office and a republican for another at the same time.

yeah he's had commercials on the radio for awhile now- but keep in mind that doesn't mean this website was made this year and it doesnt mean the ads were bought this year. People can buy ad time and set up a campaign way prior to the term- in fact they usually do.

He said he didn't expect to get this far- and that he's pleasantly surprised how many people are on board with him and that he has a real passion to go for president because of our support. I am guessing that he didnt expect this turnout and probably planned to run for re-election this past summer, we are hearing of it now but it doesn't mean it was planned yesterday or last month.

Yeah, Ron even admitted he was also running for re-election at an earlier debate... I'm not sure which one but this should come as no surprise to anyone.

Hmmm,

all of that info looks really old and at the bottom it says 2007...?

Wow, it looks strange to see a money ticker with $160.00

ummm... of course he is running for re-election in the house... if he wins both the presidency and his house seat, he will have a lot of pull in endorsing who takes that seat (most likely in an "emergency election")

yeah, we'd lose out if he wasn't in re-election

that's why i say, if he ends up going back to congress, let's at least send him back with a posse to form a Ron Paul congressional coalition

If you are maxed out, please consider donating to this congressional site.

Three months ago I didnt even know he was my congressman. Now, I just signed up to campaign for him here! ( and donated $100 as well)

Its no different than when Lieberman ran- he never gave up his senate seat.

If McCain, Clinton, or Obama loses, I guarantee they won't be giving up their senate seats.

BTW, Ron Paul has said all along that not only is he running for both offices, you can CONTRIBUTE to both- so you can donate 2,300 to the Presidential campaign and the same amount to his congressional campaign.

RP's Congressional primary is March 4. If he wins, he basically wins the seat as the Dems have no candidate and his only opposition would be a Libertarian candidate. If win this primary then he could accpet drafts from the LP or CP since their conventions are not until later in the spring.

Now maybe this would effect his ballot position in Texas, but not anyplace else. What's wrong with a little fluidity in politics?

This... I'm really looking forward to this movement turning into a transformational process in the Republican Party.
