Local press print local news and are notoriously lazy. Take the campaigns press release tomorrow regarding fund raising and call your local newspaper, radio station or TV station. They want a story to come to them...just bring it to them (politely).

Call them, give them your name. Ask them to interview you about the Ron Paul campaign and things you've done, why you support him. Offer a picture of Dr. Paul or of yourself.

Tell them that you are active in the community, and want people to know how hard local people are working for Dr. Paul.

They'll do a story, it's nice, it's local....and national. It will attract readers. Offer a title like; "Understanding the Ron Paul Phenomenon in our home town of ******"

Tell them you are doing a big Fundraiser today, completely grassroots organized...and you would be happy to send them follow up information so they can do follow up articles.

Let the Campaign handle the Main Stream Media, let's win the local media.

Let's maximize our exposure this time. The campaign can't do this, it is too hard for a central campaign to contact all the local reporters, but we can do this. The campaign can give us press releases and if we contact our local media...those releases will get coverage.

Yes, getting into local papers is key: letters to the editor, opinion columns, ads, etc.

Ask them if they reported on this:

National Taxpayers Union: Only Ron Paul Would Cut Spending
NTU Report: Other Republicans would increase spending by billions

According to a report released Tuesday by the National Taxpayers Union, Texas Congressman Ron Paul is the only remaining presidential candidate who proposes net spending cuts.

According to the report, Congressman Paul’s proposals would cut government spending by over $150 billion, a conservative estimate of the spending reductions Dr. Paul has proposed. The report concludes that the other remaining Republican candidates, Mitt Romney, John McCain and Mike Huckabee, have proposed spending increases of $19.5 billion, $6.9 billion and $54 billion respectively.

“It should come as no surprise that when you crunch the numbers Ron Paul is the only Republican who would actually shrink the size and cost of the federal government,” said Ron Paul campaign economic advisor Don Luskin. “Romney, McCain and Huckabee don’t hold a candle to Ron Paul – the only true fiscal conservative running for President.”

In ten terms in Congress, Ron Paul has never voted for a tax increase or for an unbalanced budget.

CAN ANYONE RESUBMIT THIS PRESS RELEASE??????????????

The press doesn't go hunting for Press Releases...you need to send it to them. The central campaign doesn't send this to every newspaper.

You have to call the paper, tell them who you are, offer to be interviewed and maybe let them take your picture. Then they will print...they're lazy...they want you to bring them a story.

That's just how the press works. They sit around reading complaints...but they can't do anything about lack of coverage if no one is sending them stories.

Let the campaign handle the MSM, the local papers will cover us.

But is this create by the campaign?
And if so, can I legally pay to get it
distributed?
