One of six televangelists targeted in a Senate finance inquiry is being accused of turning a recent pastors' conference into a fundraising opportunity for GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.

Last week, Kenneth Copeland Ministries held an annual -- by invitation only -- ministers' conference at his headquarters in Newark, Texas. The Trinity Foundation, a Dallas-based nonprofit group that monitors televangelists, reports that during a live webcast Huckabee called Copeland and requested emergency financing.

Ole Anthony, president of the Trinity Foundation, says Copeland immediately adjourned the conference and then reconvened the group in a private meeting, in order to stay within guidelines on fundraising. "They raised $111,000 in cash and maybe in excess of a million dollars in pledges for Huckabee," says Anthony. "If that isn't a violation of the law, it certainly strains at ethical positions."

Huckabee's campaign released a statement saying it rented a room at the gathering for a separate event that was in line with campaign finance laws and tax regulations. And a spokesman for Copeland says the event was not an endorsement of Huckabee, although Anthony claims that Huckabee has had close ties with Copeland. He considers Huckabee's appearances on Copeland's program in November and the recent phone call to be "poor judgment" by someone who wants to be president.

Perhaps. And perhaps he's trying to forestall that sad (for him) day as long as possible, legally or otherwise. A nice big chunk of change from a televangelist would help him in that quest.

Here's another article on .Presidential Candidate Mike HUCKABEE taking ILLEGALLY collected money from the Texas televangelist Kenneth Copeland Ministries.

"Republican hopeful Mike Huckabee reached out to a questionable funding source this week. Texas televangelist Kenneth Copeland, one of the targets of a Senate Finance Committee investigation into the funding and governance of "prosperity gospel" ministries.

At Copeland's annual by-invitation-only Minister's Conference at his Newark, Texas, headquarters Jan. 23, Copeland received a call during the meeting from Huckabee requesting emergency financing. According Doug Wead, former Bush family evangelical adviser, Copeland and his supporters at the conference raised $111,000 in cash for Huckabee, with about a million dollars in pledged donations, after he temporarily adjourned the conference and then reconvened the group as a "private meeting."

Wead relayed a report in his blog from a source at the meeting that "Last night the Governor called his friend in the middle of a conference and Copeland, carefully observing all the laws governing non profits, as a private citizen, re-convened a private meeting, turned to his friends and raised a few million dollars for Huckabee." (See "Mike Huckabee's Big Mistake")

According to video clips of the conference obtained by Trinity Foundation, an investigative watchdog group in Dallas, Copeland revealed that Huckabee had pledged his total support to Copeland's ministry while dismissing the Senate investigation. "

MIKE HUCKABEE KNEW, HUCK knew the money was illegal and it was "WASHED" through a 'Middleman' Kenneth Copeland and his Ministries partners!!!

Hasn't anyone else been following those $25,000 surges when we pass him? I've been biding my time posting this. I was so hoping someone else would catch this. Just look at the daily charts.

Here's a nice example. It's the yesterday chart (i.e., Jan. 29). It'll scroll off, so you better check it today (Jan. 30). It's happened for at least the past three days. Then, when I found the articles, I connected the dots--maybe they connect and maybe they don't, but I sure thought it was curious.
