What if we set up a debate just between Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee? Give the two guys a chance to speak. They're polar opposites on just about everything, and they're both very well-spoken. It would be an actual "debate."

If we could get a good media outlet and a respected moderator involved, it could be a winner. My first thought would be Aaron Brown - he's great with "news for grownups" and he's available, since he's retired in to teaching journalism.

It is a great idea, that Huckabee would never agree to.

He could only lose out.

He has nothing to gain, but to lower his support, due to people figuring out he's a nut, and Ron Paul isn't.

And why not with Mccain?

unfortunately Huckabee, or anybody for that matter would accept. They have nothing to gain by debating someone not considered a frontrunner.

Because I think McCain actually knows he's full of ___. Hell, McCain even admitted that D.C. changed him and he abandoned (he claims temporarily) republican principals. Plus, McCain also knows that Ron Paul gets more military support than him and that - for some unknown reason - McCain is getting the republican antiwar vote. He literally would have nothing to gain and everything to lose.
