South Korea has a population greater than Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Sweden combined.
In their recent election they counted the entire nation's votes in one day, by hand, with no voting machines. They counted the votes in public before the media and the public. Why can't we manage to do it one tiny state what South Koreans did in an entire nation?

I don't want to sound bigoted or anything, but a lot of Asians are incredibly meticulous at that sort of thing.

Why IS it that Americans can't have their ballots hand-counted and in full public view? It was that way not all that long ago.

They use to pay senior citizens to count the votes. It provided them with much needed extra short term income. I don't see why we couldn't do that now. If your worried about costs, reduce the amount of matching federal funds to candidates to pay for it.

It's called efficiency - accountability. Something seemingly lacking in our country today.
