at 1:22 you can just really hear the passion and pain in his voice by the decision to send troops to Iraq.

Anderson Cooper tried to "clarify" or "justify" McDrain's "100 Years" comment. And it just made me angrier.

McStupid is trying to equate our presence in Iraq with that of South Korea. In the latter, we're there to curb a resumption of the Korean War; McDrain wants us in Iraq, apparently to curb a resumption of hostilities by Al Queda (sp?). Problem is, Al Queda will never want a halt in hostilities. So long as we're in Iraq they will wage war. We are not dealing with a sovereign nation with a standing army, that can eventually be worn down and be brought to the bargaining table. In Iraq we're fighting an endless supply of men; for as long as we're there, the supply of very pissed off people will not dwindle.

How many more will have to die before we can claim Iraq is secure? Close to a million more? What's the standard for "secure?" I think I know of a few battles during World War Two that were declared over, and the island secure, yet with GIs or Marines still fighting pockets of resistance. Only after we've "secured" things, do we then begin our "100 Years." Does McStupid actually believe Al Queda will just think, "Aaahh, let 'em have Iraq" and cease fire?

I'm fucking mad, because I came to the realization that my son--and he's only 5 years old--will eventually be old enough to serve in uniform, and just may have to serve in Iraq.
Fuck you, McCain. Fuck you!

I wish RP would have jumped in after McCain said that it's okay to stay 100 years if there are not heavy casualities, and justified it by comparing it to Korea and Europe.

Those are the countries RP talks about when he mentions the trillion dollar empire! Those occupations costs billions of dollars to keep up. I wish he would have mentioned it. It's still super expensive, casualities or no.
