Hey. I've donated $2,000 directly so far, and I've bought like $400 worth of supplies.

I heard purchases from the store count toward your cap, and therefore I must already be over it. Is this true, or can I donate another $300?

And what happens if you go over your limit...

Technically, yes it's true. But it might be difficult for the FEC to prove you purchases, depending on exactly what it is you bought. Example school supplies would be hard to prove, but lawn signs would be easy to prove. So use your best judgement. Remember though, if you are married your spouse also has a $2300 limit. Perhaps you could convince her to be a Ron Paul supporter.

Would a direct donation to Dr. Paul outside of the Campaign be considered a political donation?

Why can't people give Dr. Paul money that doesn't count against the FEC cap?
