"Volunteering for a campaign is one way to help out a candidate. Many North Dakotans are also giving money to presidential candidates, too. On the Republican side, people in our state are giving the most money to Ron Paul. On the Democratic side, it`s Barack Obama.

And on the Republican side, presidential candidate Ron Paul has received well over $6000. The campaign coordinator says that`s because North Dakotans are ready to go back to traditional Republican values.

"He doesn`t have deep pockets," says Charlene Nelson, Ron Paul State Campaign Coordinator. "He doesn`t have these huge billionaire donations coming in. These are people like you and me, who have $30, $40, $50 to give to a man that they hope will be in the White House in November."
