I originally posted the paragraph below about a week ago. Re-reading it now, I realize that I unintentionally sounded like a condescending dick-head, but nevertheless, the point I was making is even more true tonight. I'm hoping that people will realize that we are going to have to hold this coalition together and build on it way beyond this election cycle if we ever expect to make any change. RP brought us together and laid the groundwork, but we have years and years of building to do if we ever want to have a realistic chance of putting someone in the White House. Or......we could all just quit and go home because we didn't achieve success within the first year. I wish the NWO would have given up so easily.

I got turned on to RP about a year ago. I'm sure some were RP fans before that, but I'd wager that most people here only became RP fans within the past year. I see a lot of despair on these boards tonight as a result of the debate and the Florida primary. I encourage all to stop "spazzing out" over the short-term defeats and start focusing on long-term strategy. Think about it....if you've only been on board with making change for the past year, what did you really expect? Did you think success would come so quickly??? Did you think it would be a cake-walk? We are in the fetal stages of trying to make major changes in the country. We have years of work to do. It took decades to dig the hole we're in, and it's gonna take a helluva long time to climb out of this hole. Be realistic about our goals and what can be achieved in given periods of time. Be prepared for the long haul, or be prepared for many more disappointing nights.
