How stupid do these people think the American people are? we're constantly told that oil has nothing to do with our involvement in the Middle East and now, we're constantly being told they attack us just because they hate our freedoms.
I just wanted to rant and rave about these perpetual lies.

What moron doesn't connect our involvement in the Middle East with oil? What idiots can deny that when you set foot on their holy land, bomb the crap out of them, supply their enemies with weapons, restrict their trade, impose arbitrary no fly zones in their sovetreign nation, that they should love us?

Is my head the only one thats ready to explode because of the stupidity that I keep hearing?

So I guess I'd suggest that you not feel mad at people. Have compassion on them because the MSM has overpowered them. Sound the alarm clock firmly, but gently. Use a ringer that starts softly (almost like a hum), but grows louder and louder until it cannot be denied. And then, the people will join you. :)

Oh thank you thank you thanks you all! I needed affirmation because I was about to go nuts. I had a discussion with some self appointed "expert" on the ME and I make a matter of fact assertion about our oil/military connection in that region. He then tried to tell me that its not about oil but "our interests". So I asked him what "interests" are there besides oil? And he shut down the conversation and got all pissy with me. So I asked him to enumerate all the reasons besides oil that for all these years our military has been involved in that part of the world?

He couldn't. Just like everyone that I ever asked that question to. Of course, once in a while ya get the smartass who says something like "if we wanted to seal their oil we could just do it".

Is it pointless to educate them on the history? The overthrow of the democratically leader of Iran in 1953 to set up the Shah? Or other monarchies we've supported despite their ruthlessness and others we've kicked down? Its not about steling oil. Its about setting up regimes who are favorable to living in opulance and power who care more about that power and wealth than they do about the rights and well being fo their people. No wonder the leaders seem like friends to our leaders, while the people hate our guts.

I swear. If they knew what I knew those people would be loathing the same ones that I loathe. Because its those who pit the people in other parts of this world against me.

Sorry. I guess I'm still ranting.

For me, it was a combination of 2 things. First, I was discussing politics with a very wise, old man I've known for years. All of a sudden he had an uncharacteristic outburst, saying, "And you'd better watch out. We had all better. This country has never seen these kinds of abuses of habeus corpus." When he said this, I kind of brushed it off as, "Well *I'll* never be accused of being an enemy combatant. So why do I care?"

A few days later, though, I came back across this poem that had sent shivers down my spine in middle school. It reads:

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out - because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me - and there was no one left to speak out for me.

And all of a sudden, it was like a light went on. And I GOT it. And I was HORRIFIED.

I had the wake up moment about 5 or 6 years ago.

I was absolutely driven to try and wake up others for a few years.

That drive suddenly and completely left me not long after Katrina.

I'm not interested in waking others up anymore.

Now, I'm interested in developing networks with others who are already awake.

Dr. Paul's campaign has been a fantastic success, from my perspective, already.

If I were Ron Paul and I got elected, I would try to change one aspect of this government: IQ testing would be required for voter registration, and anyone with a score below a certain point would not qualify to vote.

What that certain point should be, I cannot say, but I would think around 120. Stupid people should not be allowed to choose what will happen to this country.

Now there I *must* disagree. Many of the smartest people I've ever met are also some of the msot corrupt. Reason being: smart people have tremendous powers of rationalization. They are clever enough to think up justifications for just about everything!
