View Full Version : PLEASE HELP: AN EASY $2,300 for Ron Paul's Campaign!

Please help me out, I know the folks at this forum can make it happen. I have a friend that will donate $2,300.00 to Ron Paul on Feb 1st under what I consider to be really easy terms (given the supporters on this forum & the moneybomb Feb 1)

This friend of mine is a Republican on the fence. He is planning to cross party lines and vote for Obama Feb 5th, I keep mentioning Ron Paul's message to him (without forcing it).

Today I got him to agree to something that made my jaw drop. He's pretty damn successful, in the $200k+ income bracket (my best guess). He's "impressed" with my ferverent dedication to Paul but issued me a challenge - get $4,600.00 in donations (of people that would not have otherwise donated) and he will kick in his $2,300.00 maximum & vote for him Feb 5th.

SOOOOOO easy on Feb 1st. So here's what you can do to help:

On Feb 1 when you donate, come here & check if the $4,600.00 has been met or not. If it has not, go donate, UP YOUR DONATION BY AT LEAST $1 (so it is a donation you would not have done if other than for this offer), and then paste your confirmation here. Once we reach $4,600.00 I will post a "CONGRATS" update to the post and get him to do his $2,300.00.

Please check here before you donate to see if we have reached our goal.

Cheers!!!

***EDIT 1/30/2008 6:22pm CST***
I apologize, should have made this more clear (based on comments in the thread so far). I am in IL, so is my friend. We have open primaries, so you simply fill out your voting card for which party you wish to vote for, and that is the smart-card they give you for the voting machine (smart-card at least in DuPage Co.)

Also, all we want from this post is a total of $4,600.00 in donations that have been "upped" due to the post, and if you're giving $51 why not $52 (or as another generous poster in this thread, $102)? Even if you only up your donation by $1 you'll get $26 matched for your $1 increase.

A lot of states are open primaries. It's pretty retarded to only allow party members to vote in the primary / caucus....especially the states that exclude independents from voting.

But....can we only up by $1 - wouldn't an increase in like $5 be something beyond what we normally would have? That makes it 5 times easier. :)

reason I am asking though, making sure whoever is posting this KNOWS the rules in his or her state is all.

Many here in cali still think they can go vote for ron paul even though they are democrats. Many people really dont know the rules in their own states.

I was only gonna donate $51 for the Feb 1st money bomb, but since it seems like your from IL like me, I will double that to 102$ for this wager of yours.

I apologize, should have made this more clear. I am from Illinois, it is an open primary. IL is also Obama country, he has been a media darling here since day 1 (it is HIS state). He also has a huge appeal to young voters here, and I tell you most of it is based on MSM & local media coverage.

So your $102 has now become $153! Kudos!

C'mon guys, even if you make your $51 donation $52, now it becomes $78 for your extra $1 investment. I want this to happen, please.

I know, I know... $2300.00: small potatoes in the grand scheme of things, but if we got just 100 people doing the same thing it would be $230k, almost a week's worth of regular donations.

Just up it at least a buck and let us make an "easy" victory.

Getting donations from people who would otherwise not have donated is not the same as getting people who always donate to donate a little more than they had planned. Check your logic.

I was going to donate $51.00. I found $15 dollars at a Ron Paul sign wave, and my 17 year old son said that he would work for me this weekend for 2 hours helping hand Ron Paul information packages on door knobs if I would give an extra $10. My son and I saw this thread so that was our inspiration for the extra $25.

So there is an extra $25.00.

I got someone to donate to Ron Paul who probably will end up voting obama. But in the end they understand ron's message and that it will lead the country forward if only one person benefits from hearing his message it was worth it every penny.

I assume your friend knows that every day this onslaught against the dollar continues his money is worth less. So if he still votes obama oh well, but if he at least gives ron paul money thats also a vote. It adds to the collective group that supports ron paul's message, letting more people know this message is popular. He needs to put in a vote for his dollar somewhere ;).

We have been going back and forth on whether to donate again or not... we have donated more than we can really "afford" already, and yesterday were thinking that we'd really better not put another donation on the credit card when we don't have the extra in our tight family budget. But the matching funds is an offer I can't refuse. In for $51.

February 1, 2008

Dear Friends,

Ron and I are so honored that you all are contributing to the campaign in honor of our 51st wedding anniversary. That is very special.

We are celebrating our special day as we travel from the California debate to Seattle, Washington and Denver, Colorado for the cause of liberty. We are not giving up our day but sharing it with the voters as you are sharing the fruits of your labor for freedom. Ron says "Freedom works!!" and I believe it does.

Thanks again for your support in prayers, letters and donations. Here are two letters I've received so far that really touched the hearts of me and Ron:

Shellie Singleton from Hampstead, NC says:

"We love you, we treasure you, and we revere you. For the first time ever, my family has finally realized that we are not alone in our desire for the government of the founders. Thank you for bringing so many believers in liberty and freedom together. What an amazing feeling it is to belong to a true revolution, what an awesome responsibility! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!"

Colin Mahon from North Ridgeville, OH writes:

"The two of you may never fully understand how many lives you have touched and changed. I now have great hope for my daughter as I now feel I am making a difference in her world. I went from a disenfranchised, non-voting, angry American citizen that had lost all hope for our country to a political activist in the last 6 months. Thank you for your honesty, integrity and patriotism. You did more than cure my apathy, the two of you saved my life."

We wish we could thank each one of you individually but maybe one day our paths will cross and we will do just that. Ron is so sorry that he could not make it to every event that you have worked hard and planned for. I wish for a few more hours in the day, but since that is not an option we make do with what we are given.

With love to all our wonderful supporters,

Carol Paul
