All the pundits were saying now with McCain a "solid frontrunner" that the GOP will begin to coalesce around him so they can then sit back and watch Hitlery and Obama duke it out.

They have been wrong on everything so far, why should we believe them now?

McCain came into Florida a marginal frontrunner, but he wasn't really established as such until he won Florida.

So far, when any candidate has been dubbed "THE frontrunner", the next election has been a repudiation of said frontrunner. Just as in the past, people will vote for the lesser of two evils to stop who they perceive the greater of two evils from being elected, this election cycle we are seeing the same thing happening in the GOP primaries.

It's like the GOP electorate is saying "We are not sure what we want, but we know we DON'T want that!"

Expect Ron and Mike to do surprisingly well, and Mitt will do well just based on the fact that he will be perceived as "the one who can beat McCain". I will go counter to all the pundits and say that rather than Florida boosting McCain, it will bring the opposition out in droves.

The GOP has "Kill the frontrunner" syndrome.

Interesting theory. We'll see if it holds water.
