Another One Bites the Dust
January 29th, 2008 by Dan McCarthy

It looks like Florida has eliminated Rudy Giuliani tonight. How long before Huck, too, goes the way of Brownback, Tancredo, Gilmore, Hunter and the two Thompsons? It’s a four-man race now: McCain, Romney, Huckabee, and Ron Paul.

McCain is reviled by conservatives — but Romney’s record is at least as bad as McCain’s. Neither is a conservative, and tax-hiking Mike Huckabee isn’t either. There’s one anti-tax, small-government conservative in this race, and he’s the antiwar candidate as well. Will conservatives stand with their principles, or have the neoconservatives successfully remade the Republican Party in their image? (Remember, the Weekly Standard neocons actually preferred McCain over Bush in 2000. Bill Kristol is a very happy man tonight.)

Peace, prosperity, and liberty: that’s the alternative Ron Paul offers the American people, the alternative to the liberal Democrats (who, as Hillary Clinton shows, are also pro-war) and the phony conservative Republicans (who are pro-war and, as the record shows, not really for smaller government at all).

Ron Paul is fighting a 50-state campaign. Other candidates drop out when they fail in their last-chance bastions. But Ron Paul can pick up strength anywhere and everywhere — in Nevada, in Louisiana, in Maine, all over the country. We’re fighting for the whole country, and Dr. Paul is going to go the distance. Keep giving https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/ , keep organizing, and, crucially, sign up as a Precinct Leader https://voters.ronpaul2008.com/grassroots/ to get out the vote for Dr. Paul on Super Tuesday and beyond.
