I'm Jeffersonian, slightly different. Jackson was a strong compact guy, Jeffersonians are weak compact theory believers.

You do know the Whigs campaigned on reviving the Central Bank, after Andrew Jackson shut down the first one. This is the precursor to the Fed so I am not sure it goes with the Ron Paul Revolution.

I absolutely agree with their plan to promote domestic manufacturing through protective tariffs. That would halt the giant sucking sound we've been hearing since 1992. And also their commitment to internal improvements...roads, canal systems, and railroads is something I could get behind.

I'm thinking the Whig Party is more like the GOP, in that its a party losing its followers and reason for being.
