That said, I would vote for Hagel over the lemming frontrunner Repukes anyday and a Paul/Hagel ticket is a winner. Hagel could take over from Ron after 8 years. Instead of competing, he should join because there is no way with his voting record on spending fiat currency etc he can match Ron's but I would provide him a chance to repent or go with Sanford, but I think Hagel has more clout. Paul/Hagel, learn from the master Chuck.

Forget him, I am tired of propping up world dicatators at US inflation expense. He can forget his grass roots effort then!

No way. Hagel earned a 50% on the Freedom Index. Ron Paul... 100%.

I respect him for speaking out against his fellow Republicans, but he doesn't inspire me in areas of liberty like Paul.

What scares me is that if Paul does well in Ames, Hagel may want jump into the race and try steal our votes away.

Hagel isn't going to run. I honestly don't think that Bloomberg will either. Think about it though, if it comes down to Hillary as Democrat, Bloomberg as Independent, and RP as Republican, I think RP would win easily. Let's hope it does happen though.

I don't think that he CAN steal our votes.

Actually I completely expect Bloomberg to run if a "conservative" wins the republican primary. In fact I have a feeling that Bloomberg a) thinks Ron Paul is going to actually win the primary and b) will take that opportunity to jump into the race as the "moderate" candidate.

We're looking ahead here but I am of the belief that Ron Paul has more hurdles than just winning the primary or beating a democrat. I am 100% convinced if he makes it to the general election he's gonna have to deal with Bloomberg as well.

Maybe Bloomberg splits the neo-con vote or maybe the Republican "base" (what's left of it) flocks to Bloomberg over Paul. Who knows.

The Republican party is falling apart and as Arianna Huffington has predicted, the GOP will die and will be replaced for the Bloomberg Party. The only way to stop this from happening is for the remnant to take it back and our movement is doing that.

Nash, I really hate to agree with you, but I could see that scenario happening. Bloomberg could end up being our spoiler.

Hagel doesn't have enough money to run.

I know this is going to sound a little mean, but I don't see how people from New York like Bloomberg are going to resonate with people from Middle America. Why would Bloomberg take votes from Paul? Bloomberg is a Socialist.

I was saying that Bloomberg will take votes away from Hillary. At least, I think that's what would happen. Republicans don't really like the guy very much.

Hagel voted FOR the Amnesty/Immigration bill. Before that, I too liked him.

He's already toast, as this ONE issue alone has sealed his fate within the GOP.
