After seeing the results in Nevada, where 45% of Republican voters were over the age of 60, I tried to alert everyone I know that the same thing would happen in Florida. I posted similar comments here at least 10 times.

I'm now reading form the CNN exit polls that 49% of Republican voters in Florida were over the age of 60. Just as expected.

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/state/#FL

We will have an EMBARRASSING loss in Florida, which may kick us out of the debates. At 7:30 PM, I'm seeing that we are NECK and NECK with Fred THOMPSON for crying out loud. Is ANYBODY listening here?

Look people, if you want to have ANY further effect in these elections, please concentrate your efforts to older voters. Get the precinct list from your meetup leader, sort out the older voters and go talk to them. I suggest you first send them DVD, but that must be done quickly, in one or two days max. Go to old folks homes, bingos, churches. This is URGENT.

I tried to start threads for older voters, only to have them ridiculed by juveniles. Older folks watch a lot of TV and most are not on the internet. Some are, but that's not enough. That's why the DVD's are the best way to spread the message.

Please drop the RevolUTION talk. Please drop the "NO IRS" talk. Drop the "Opt out of Social Security". All this does nothing to help us get older voters on board. You may believe in these goals, like I do, but it makes no sense if we can't convince older voters.

It's all about getting the OLD voters on board. Drop everything and concentrate on that.

We can do MUCH better for Super Tuesday, but our current efforts are not producing anything except frustration.

Call your grandparents, they probably have not heard from you in a while.

Yes !! that is what i keep saying - Old folks need to hear about him and how he will be good for them, and how he wont take away their SS benefits. Thats all they care about ..lol... My own Gma is actually open to hearing and learning about RP.. yet she has NO computer, and NO DVD player- lol. But, after the rate cuts, and all that has been happening lately w/ the economy, I think she lost some serious $, and is very against what they are doing, and worried. Believe me i had no hope for her, and if she can be converted, anyone can!! Once my dad learned about RP, he told Gma that (now deceased) Gpa would have voted for RP. I truly believe he would have. He loved Reagan, was a hunter, very intelligent and conservative. Once of the smartest men ive ever known.
My other gp's on the other hand are in love w/ Romney. My gma says hes so cute, and tells me my DH looks like him --grrrrrr... (not to mention my DH is only 30, lol)

What can we do to get the old folks vote guys n gals???? ideas?

Young people just don't friggin vote. It's a statistical fact. More Homosexuals vote then young people. More older people vote than young people. More of almost every demographic vote than your people.

But, one thing is for sure. More young people are on the internet. But, that doesn't seem to resonate in votes.
To reply on the younger voters to bring Ron Paul to the for-front is preposterous.
When the media and supporters talk about how Ron Paul is attracting younger voters, it excluded older voters.

I realize there are young, middle aged, and older voters. But the numbers are very visible and discriminatory.

good to tell people this, but most do not recieve enough to even file income tax. the important thing is how he plans to save social security for the people who depend on it.

also, try to print out this info on a nice peice of paper.

More Homosexuals vote then young people.

Is there a specific age at which we can be considered homosexual? I came out at 26. Was that too soon?

From the Log Cabin Republican website:

What We Believe

We are loyal Republicans. We believe in limited government, strong national defense, free markets, low taxes, personal responsibility, and individual liberty. Log Cabin represents an important part of the American family—taxpaying, hard working people who proudly believe in this nation's greatness. We also believe all Americans have the right to liberty and equality. We believe equality for gay and lesbian people is in the finest tradition of the Republican Party. We educate our Party about why inclusion wins. Opposing gay and lesbian equality is inconsistent with the GOP's core principles of smaller government and personal freedom.

Sound familiar? There were plenty of gay people in Florida that would have benefited from this message. I hope the CA and IL people are working there on getting the gay vote.

Romney's campaign is nothing more than dumping his personal fortune into bombarding tv and radio with ads while looking and sounding somewhat presidential while the media sucks up to him. I think the sad truth is that people overall just dont care about issues anymore. If they ever really did in the first place? I do agree that looking like shit while canvassing won't help but there are bigger things in play here. The media blackout is killing this campaign...

That was a bad move, exactly like Guiliani not putting much emphasis on early states. He HAD 45% of the vote and he totally lost everything. Kent Snyder the campaign director has NO CLUE.

Instead of going to Maine, RP should have been in Fla for at least 3 days in the main cities.
