It impresses the hell outa me.
My friends and I wore out an LP of Alice's Restaurant.

Now if we could just convince Arlo to do a little something more... he could easily influence millions of my generation!

I've been working on my in-laws for a while. They're all hardcore dems. How hardcore? Voted for McGovern and Mondale.

anyway, here's an email I just sent to my in-laws:

"If this doesn't convert you, nothing will. :) [Link to Arlo Guthrie's endorsement]"

My father-in-law responds:
"Does it for me. I can't vote in the Republican primary, but if Paul runs for President, and Arlo still endorses him, he has my vote."

Woo-hoo!

50 - 8 X 10 colored glossy photographs with lines and arrows on the front and a paragraph on the back describing, in detail, what took place at the scene of the crime........Ba ha ha! Go Arlo!

I remember that on Ron Paul's myspace page he says that Alice's Restaurant is his favorite song. This must be a very personally wonderful endorsement for him!

The City of New Orleans wasn't written by Guthrie. Anyone heard anything about Goodman?

Of course, that's not the obvious choice for a campaign song anyway. It was Arlo's old man who wrote This Land is Your Land. How obvious a choice is that?! I dare someone to trash Arlo for singing it!

That said, Arlo has written some appropriate stuff, too.

"When you're on that last train for glory, you'll know you must have paid your fare."

Hey, Arlo, you lookin'? I saw you at Cain's Ballroom in, like, '81 and saw you and Pete in Chicago in '84. We need more than an endorsement, man--we need some volunteer action here! Help us out!

If Steve Goodman's giving endorsements these days, it's from the hereafter.

It's unfortunately ironic that Steve Goodman, the songwriter of "A Dying Cub Fan's Last Request", died just weeks before the Cubs played in the NL playoffs in 1984.

Hell, I'm 23 and I'm impressed. Arlo Guthrie is a bad ass. I've been listening to him since I was 15 or so.

Arlo totally needs to write Ron Paul's theme song. To quote ol' Wolfie "Amazing, Amazing".

WILLIE NELSON ENDORSEMENT?

I believe Willie is friends with Arlo Guthrie (who just endorsed Ron).

Willie said he supported Kucinich but he has dropped out since.

Its realistic that Willie Nelson could endorse Ron Paul.

But I think he might need a nudge from us.

Why care about a celebrity endorsement? Because it is free advertising.
