This morning on the Paul Gallo Show the Speaker Pro-Tempore of the Mississippi
Senate, Mr. Billy Hewes, was on and took questions from the public. My
understanding is that the Speaker pro-temp is an important position for
introducing new legislation to be made into law. Many of the calls were about
the growing concern that Mississippians have about illegal immigration. I called
in and asked if he was aware of the fact that many States have either already
passed or were considering resolutions against the North American Union. His
answer was quite dismissive and indicated he either is unfamiliar with the North
American Union or not concerned about it.

So of course I took it upon myself to write a follow-up email to him. Please
find below a copy of that email and within it a link to a webpage that details
the various States that either have passed or are considering passing
resolutions against the NAU. Of course if any of you wish to email about this
issue I would not discourage you from doing so :)

Greetings Senator Hewes,

Thank you for coming on the Paul Gallo show today and taking questions from the
public. I was the person who called in regarding the possibility of the State
Legislature taking up a resolution to oppose the North American Union. I gather
from your somewhat terse response that either you are unfamiliar with this issue
or at least not familiar with the fact that numerous States have already taken
up resolutions in opposition to it. I would hope that you are also opposed to
any sort of treaty in which the United States would relinquish part of its
sovereignty to a supra-national entity that is not bound by our Constitution.

Please find at this link http://www.jbs.org/node/3430 a summary of the various
bills introduced by the several States in opposition to the North American
Union. I noticed that many of your callers today were concerned with the rising
number of illegal immigrants in our State; this issue is intrinsically tied to
the larger issue of National sovereignty. I would ask that you consider this
issue and speak with your colleagues in the Legislature to see if Mississippi
can join with Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, and the many other States that
are already taking action to ensure that the Constitution remains the supreme
law of the land.
