Today is election day and I havent canvassed my apartment complex which is made up of all college students. I wrote up this letter and I'm about to go put it in everyones door. I'm not looking for suggestions for improvements since it is so late, I am just giving it out if anyone wants to use it to do a similar thing last minute.
Seminole Suites Republican Voter,
My name is George and I live in apartment 121. I wanted to remind you that today is voting day for the primary election, and since we live in Seminole Suites it means we vote at Calvary United Methodist Church roughly across from Baha’s on Pensacola Street. To vote you do not need a voter card. You just need a form of ID! If you aren’t registered in Leon county you can change your address at the poll!
This year a truly different candidate is running for president and I took the time to write this and deliver it to your door because I think it is really important that you are informed.
Ron Paul is a 10-term congressman from Texas seeking the Republican nomination for president. He is an OB/GYN by trade and has delivered over 4000 babies. He served the country as a flight surgeon for 5 years during Vietnam.
Ron Paul appeals to college students because:
1. He wants us to have the option to not pay social security. We won’t get it by the time we retire, why should we have to pay it?
2. He is against the federal income tax. Ron Paul wants to repeal the 16th amendment giving the government the power to take 30% of our incomes through an income tax.
3. He is against a federal ban on marijuana. The power to ban drugs belongs to the states, not the federal government.
4. Ron Paul voted against the Iraq war from the start and remains the only Republican candidate to oppose the war. Every other candidate is for more troops overseas.
Ron Paul has never voted to increase taxes. He recently proposed legislation to let waitress and waiters have their hard earned tips tax-free.
Every single vote that Ron Paul made in congress has been based on the Constitution, not his personal beliefs or special interests.
Today is the only day you can vote to make sure Ron Paul is nominated to run against Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. Don’t let the old people be the only people to pick the Republican nominee. Go to the polls between 7am and 7pm and vote for Ron Paul.
If you do not vote today, we will be left with
1. Hillary Clinton/ Barack Obama leading us to socialism
2. A republican who will act as a 3rd term of George Bush.
Thanks so much for reading this,
George
