"When given the choice, people around the world choose freedom."

Was this a subtle endorsement hoping Americans will choose Ron Paul?

Well, Bush has endorsed Ron Paul before...

Pfft, Mr. Patriot Act would be terrified of Ron Paul as president. In fact, the worst thing in the world he could do for Ron Paul is endorse him.

I couldn't stand watching Bush tonight....almost everything he said was driving me crazy.

A quick summary of the speech went like this-
"Lets put the government in every nook and cranny of your lives..." (crowd goes wild) :(

he also invoked the Constitution at least twice.

and asked congress to renew the unconstitutional wiretaps law and grant immunity to the telcos for allowing it.

Bush is refering to his brand of "freedom". The kind that is offered through the barrel of a gun. "Take freedom, or else."

Oh shit, don't give them any ideas. A Bush endorsement would be the kiss of death. lmfao!

It's the kind of freedom you sacrifice liberty for.

Oddly enough, this is an area where neocons would love a Frenchman. Jean-Jacques Rousseau first suggested the concept of being "forced to be free" in his Social Contract, although I'd be giving Bush waaay too much credit for drawing upon that (besides which, it'd be out of context, although that wouldn't matter to this administration).
