Hey guys I can't really be a precinct leader but how do you become a delegate? Anyone know any of the rules for NJ? What does it entail?

Thanks in advance :D

Im not positive but I believe its too late to become a delegate. Its a long process and they were on it back in early December. You should join one of your local meetups. Which county are you in?

Ok, I read the PDF file and it contradicts what the guy said in the link. All 52 of NJ delegates HAVE to vote for the primary winner.

The Cherry Hill Meetup group is the closest and most active in your region. They just canvassed your county last Saturday. Here is their website.

Ok cool bc I am not a designated party member until after the primary...once i vote republican i will become one. and it looks like they don't select their delegates until after the primary. so at least if someone i hate from NJ gets it I won't bother becoming one.

Delegates are actually elected in a seperate election later. We have a plan for this; but I am not going to detail it all here. Come to the meetup meeting if you are interested in finding out more.

http://www3.webng.

We've discussed that site a lot on the forums. Most of the information on it is wrong and counterproductive to the organizers here on the forum.

The short version is that the Paul campaign will chose whom it wants as "delegate candidates" for its slate. Given the late date, my guess would be that the slate is already finalized, but you should check with your state coordinator.

Only on the first round of voting. Unless the person they are bound to is a candidate that has dropped out of the race, then they are unbound.
