Anyone else agree?

If you aren't familiar with what these terms mean, watch this:

and im not implying that dem is synonamous with collectivism, etc etc. i just think it would be a better combo to use.

The only trouble is, both parties lean heavily toward collectivism; one with regard to property, wealth, and wages, and the other in issues of social order and cultural mores.

I wouldn't really say either party is necessarily less collectivist than the other, which is why we ought to take them BOTH over! :D

Edit: Nevermind. Just read the last sentence in the OP. But we still oughtta take over the parties!

I've always liked the idea of 'globalists and patriots'.

To someone who's a real socialist, like me, the collectivist tag is a bit of a joke. The Dems are only so marginally different to the Reps its hardly worth mentioning.

Yes he is the epitome of an individualist. Collectivism first to came in this nation in the Late 1800's known as the modern Liberal Movement. Then it took over the American Conservatists movement in the 1900's. Collectivism is the root of all evil.

If this Ron Paul Revolution is successful the way the Reagan Revolution was, we could see this happen in our lifetimes. I somewhat hope the GOP is forced into the wilderness for a decade or so, because that would drive most of the Big Government types ("populist" theocrats and the neocons) out and to the Dems. Politicians are opportunists and will go where the power and money is.

Then again, I want to see a day when the two major parties are the Classical Liberal party and the Anarcho-Capitalist party. :D

The GOP has actually been WORSE in terms of expanding the federal government.

Slightly off-topic, but on a personal note, as an ex-socialist myself, I get along with and relate much better to leftist civil-libertarians than I can to theocratic free marketeers, because I know what makes them tick, and that they're generally well-meaning people. I think even the most hardcore individualists have a "lesser of two evils" preference between personal or economic interventionism so that they don't mind making strange political bedfellows occasionally. I would totally love to see a Paul/Gravel, Paul/Kucinich, or even a Paul/Nader ticket, if it could unite this country again.

It would be more like:

Democrat, Republican = collectivist

Ron Paul = individualist
