It is in Iowa in a small venue that seats 700. Tickets were hard to come by, I was unable to get any.

Apparently there's also a debate in Nevada on the 20th of August, according to wikipedia. I knew nothing about this one.

University of Nevada, Reno will be holding this debate with The Brookings Institution and ABC News as co-sponsors of the event. Only four candidates have been invited: Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Ron Paul, and Mitt Romney.

Apparently it is because Stephanopoulos's show, This Week, airs on Sunday morning. Why they didn't move it to another time probably has to do with not taking up valuable prime time and perhaps a reward for those that frequent the Sunday morning talking head shows.

A patriot from the Des Moines meetup was told by ABC that he had a ticket but then they rescinded the offer due to some kind of re-configuration of the hall. Harumpf. I tried for weeks to get tickets for this thru Drake, the Iowa GOP, and the local ABC affiliate. 3 strikes and I'm out. I'll see you all out in the parking lot at 6 AM...bring your coffee!

The debate is in Sheslow Auditorium in Old Main at Drake University in Des Moines. It starts at 8 CDT.
