Do you think that going after local news media would offset the MSM blackout of Ron Paul?

To me it seems that in the areas that Ron Paul had one on one interviews with the local media, He had an increase in votes, help and everything else.

1. Maybe the grassroots can put out press releases to your local news stations letting them know that you are going to be at a certain place. I've done this with my local news station and it works well. 2 out of the 3 times I called them about a protest/sign wave (Not for RP-but for the Pro-life thing) they were out there and did a story. Word of advice on this though. Don't bug them every week asking them to do a story. If they do the story once, they are not going to do another one on the same thing unless something major is planned.

Appoint one person who is well versed to be the spokesman. This person should be someone who is NOT going to go off on a rant. It needs to be professional and it needs to be something that will bring honor to the campaign not hurt it.

2. Everybody needs to write letters to the editor. Most of the time they have a 30 day wait. But write them as often as allowable and get others to do the same.

3. If you find out that RP or someone who is represents RP HQ is going to be in town or near town, maybe try and get an interview set up.

4. Call In To YOUR local radio stations often promoting RP. I know in my area. They have what is called Candid comment. Where for one hour a day, you can call in and comment on local, state and national news. How about talking about the economy, foreign policy or what ever is the issue and plug Ron Paul.
For me personally, I like free advertising. That is basically what every candidate is getting but RP. But I think we can change that by just doing a few things at the grassroots level.

BTW....I know many of you are already doing this and many are buying ads for local newspapers etc...That is great. Keep it up everyone

Not sure of how to get free advertising... I've got a question having to do with the RP townhall meeting though... Could someone get me a dvd copy of that, and then I could possibly try to get played on my local public access channel?

Well, when I say free advertising, I mean using the everyday joe getting the word out through the media. Locals calling in to their local radio, letter to the editor, etc....

The campaign should be doing this.

I don't understand why they aren't on radio and TV 24 hours a day.
Dr Paul should be on the largest market TV and radio that will have him
every moment of the day. He should not turn down any invite.

I know SOOOO many people who aren't voting for him because they
don't hear about him on the news.

Last night a friend from Florida said he LOVED everything about "John" Paul
that I sent him. He sounded great. He really didn't like McCain.

..... BUT "John" Paul can't win. "If he wanted to win he should be down
here campaigning."
