On 1/25, there was a CT Straw Poll in Middletown, CT. It was a great event with a great turnout, especially from the Ron Paul supporters. Of all of the candidates, we had the most liveliest supporters by far! The Ron Paul Balloon Team was also in attendance, but with the big winds, the balloons would not work!

While we did not win, we came very close to it, and I was very impressed with the turnout overall and for Ron Paul supporters - here are the final results:

Mitt Romney 136 votes
John McCain 104
Ron Paul 96
Rudy Giuliani 34
Mike Huckabee 9
Fred Thompson 2
Duncan Hunter 1

People still voted for Hunter and Thompson? Geez, this just goes to show how uninformed most voters are.

Well, this event had been planned beforehand and each candidate who was in the race from the Iowa Caucus to present had a representative, and they spoke for that candidate. Now, those representatives were already counted votes for the candidate they represented. There were 2 Thompson representatives and 1 Hunter. So really, no one voted for them, and no one who had supported them showed up for them.

how about we try to convert the 3 who went for Hunter and Thompson? They obviously are against the neocon machine as well.
