An earlier thread gave me an idea tonight. Ron Paul for Dummies. The domain was available so I took it. Now it's a working site:

http://ronpaulfordummies.com

I will keep adding issues to the menu, but I have the important issues covered.

What do you think?

I didn't want to copy the official "dummies" look out of fear of copyright infringement.

I wonder if it would cause trouble?

Sweet!! There are a lot of dummies on MySpace. This site can be very useful.

I'll spread the word.

The title of this thread pretty much sums up the general voting public in this country

I had a website with an image made from that site on it and I never got any hassles.

When you navigate to RonPaul2008 it buries your site, you should have it open up in a new window.

maybe im just nitpicky but it would be nice if the text was tad larger that just my 2 cents.

You might want to put some kind of real small disclaimer at the bottom of the site that says that "this is a parody"...

Parody is one of the exceptions to copyright law.

Let me know if you need more info.

I doubt it. If it does, you can always remove the cover image from the website. If you print the book and it does go to court, the original copies will become collectors items.

Yep, good thinking.

Def. link to the Constitution & BoR so visitors can read them online, too.

I'll be honest. It's not dumb enough. Most Americans don't have very good reading comprehension. You should write it like it's being written for 6th graders, then it will be a perfect site. Remember, half of the nation has an IQ below 100.

Great job!

I'd add a page of some popular youtube videos. Some ideas: http://kickapathy.com

Agreed. Very good start however! :)

Try to stick with small 7 word sentences
- starting with noun/verbs

Short sentences are easy to read.
Higher reception rate.
Flows well with a "dummy's" presentation.
Keeps interest longer.

Idea:
When a user clicks on "taxes and debt".
Tease them slightly with info they can read in 2 seconds.
Let them interact with video
Followed with slightly more detailed bullets and links.

Look at the slim jims bullets for ideas of short statements.

My two cents...

This would be great to be up for publishing, I'm sure there are some indie publishers out there willing to get this out there.

I think having him speak on the issues in video form fits the 'dummy' theme and makes him stand out and more understandable for people who don't read for concept well.

Nicely done. It needs to be clead up here and there, but it is a great start. Your approach is pretty good and I am of the mindset that a site doesn't have to be flashy. It just has to be concise and clean.

Thank you for the work. Please keep it coming.

Great site....I really like the videos with the issues. That helps tremendously...a lot of people like to listen and watch rather than read.

After I forwarded this link to my retired friend in FL, he replied,

Thanks for the Ron Paul link. We vote on Tuesday here in FL and I have NOT been impressed by any of the candidates. But I did NOT really know much about Ron Paul so the dummies link was made to order.

I'm using to convert a few people myself. I even have my ex wife this close > < to voting for the good doctor.
