View Full Version : We would appreciate input on our 4th and Final CA newspaper ad

We have successfully run a series of Bay Area ads in the run-up to the
primary. Three previous ads have focused on individual platform issues
in bullet format. We are preparing a final punch ad that will run on the
Thursday prior to the vote.

We chose a narrative format giving the message more teeth. Because
of this format and because we wanted to make a large impression with
the ad popping off the page, we are continuing with full color and have
increased the size. Unfortunately, of course, the cost increased but we
believe it is a worthy investment in this important state. We are currently
only $450 short and are reaching out for Ron Paul supporter assistance.

Yesterday our meetup had a sign waving event directly in front of the
newspaper. We had approximately 30 people and two large banners.
The paper tells us that if we submit this ad they'll consider placing
pictures of the events next to the ad. If we can accomplish this it would
increase the value of the ad tremendously.

Please contribute if you can, and please forward this message to any
Ron Paul supporters you think will be willing to contribute.

If you cannot use the chipin to contribute, please email
ca4ronpaul@yahoo.com and we can arrange some other way,
including paying the newspaper directly.

Note that contributions will count toward your $2300 limit.

Will it be in color in the newspaper as well? Looks pretty good.

Yes it will, provided we can raise the money. The Newspaper is giving us color for $5 per column inch which is very reasonable. Since we've already run 3 prior color ads with them, they're pretty happy with us.

The Ad Message:

The Citizen's Statesman
Ron Paul, a 10-term US Congressman, is the unsurpassed leader in the fight for a limited, Constitutional government, low taxes, civil liberties and a return to sound monetary and responsible foreign policies. He is acclaimed among both his colleagues and his constituents for his honesty, transparency and consistent voting record. As one fellow Congressman expressed, "Ron Paul personifies the Founding Fathers' ideal of the citizen statesman. He makes it clear that his principles will never be compromised, and they never are." When was the last time we could make such a statement about a politician?

He Spoke the Truth When Other Leaders Were Silent
In 2007, news broke about a Presidential candidate who years ago predicted the housing bust, the devaluing of the dollar, soaring inflation and impending recession. We learned of a candidate who tried to control unconstitutional spending, who fought for our civil liberties, tried to prevent the war in Iraq, who voted against the PATRIOT Act, and who wanted to secure our ports and borders. He made us aware that all of these problems could have been avoided by following the Constitution. Ron Paul is the only candidate who spoke the truth when other leaders remained silent. America is now listening.

Americans Reclaiming Our Country
Citizens across the nation are rallying behind the "Statesman of the People" despite the mainstream media's fear of Dr. Paul's message reaching main street. He has the largest national grassroots support organization of any candidate. His message resonates across parties evidenced by "Ron Paul Democrats", "Ron Paul Republicans" and "Ron Paul Independents" proudly carrying his banner. He has broken fund raising totals without one corporate or special interest dime and has received more contributions from American military personnel than any other candidate. Ron Paul has support of the citizens across party, racial, socioeconomic, and religious lines because his policies are American policies, and We the People are reclaiming our country.

If you are worried about the state of the union and the future of your family, we urge you to learn about the only "By the People, For the People" candidate: www.ronpaul2008.com or 1.877.RON.PAUL

Guys, this is the last ad in a series of ads before the primaries in the Bay Area market.

I've chipped in $100 (and I'm from TX not CA) and we only need $450 more for a full color, 4 column (7.5") x 10" ad with the possibilities of sign waving photos and a story surrounding it.

CA is a critical state. Anyone out there willing to match??

Although I am not a FEC specialist, I believe the newspaper is misleading Linus. Otherwise, the USA Today guy couldn't have placed his ad.

Oh my gosh..............when it comes to RP, begging is not beneath me. ;)

For less than one penny per reader, we reach over 124K people in this critical market, which I understand is HOT right now.

Anyone with a few dollars to spare??
