Another Perspective on the MSNBC Republican Debate

The MSNBC Republican “debate” was last night, and it certainly had some great moments. Here’s a quick synopsis of some of the better ones:

(6:32) Mitt Romney debates Mitt Romney: Well, it might as well have been, seeing that he got over 20 minutes of speaking time to Ron Paul’s 6. In all fairness to Mitt, a debate with himself from 15 years ago probably would have yielded more differences than with most of the other candidates appearing on stage last night.

(15:47) Mike Huckabee explains how we should have been looking for Easter eggs instead of WMD in Iraq. No, Mike, we didn’t find those either.

(48:29) John McCain expounds on his understanding of economics. Three minutes of silence ensued before he realized his “Treasury Secretary” wasn’t present.

(1:14:00) Rudy Giuliani tries to justify why a massive federal government hurricane insurance program is consistent with his position as the "most qualified conservative in the race."

(1:29:00) Ron Paul gets asked his first question.

(1:30:00) The debate ends.

OK, so that’s not really what happened last night. But to those of us who watched it, didn’t it sometimes seem that way?
