pssssst, lets see who can afford it anyways: Clinton, Obama and maybe us(?).

Fox made a wise choice on behalf of the republican party.

That doesn't mean you can't do local ads during the Superbowl

That could depend. Affiliates have agreements to show the network programming. They network could possibly pass this all the way down :(

Well, if that proves to be true, that's fine and dandy (in a cynical sort of way).

The RonPaulBlimp dot-com group has raised $6,380 so far for this ad (http://www.ronpaulblimp.com/superbowl/), so perhaps they should dump the funds into an alternate advertisement venue...

From a Washington Post blog (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/01/25/no_campaign_ads_to_interfere_w.html):

"The industry publication Advertising Age reports on its web site today that Fox has decided since it cannot make time available to all the candidates, it won't make it available to any."

Well, Fox is "fair and balanced" afterall!

The blog goes on to say that "Fox can refuse to sell political time in this situation, and can invoke an FCC ruling that turning candidates down is reasonable in "unique, one-time-only" broadcasts where equal ad time can't be offered to all candidates, according to the report."

What BS.
