Sign up to the site and sign the petition. It's a law that has been brought before congress that says congress must READ every piece of legislation that they vote on.
Currently, they do not do this (how is this possible? I have no idea), because some bills are thousands of pages long and are they only given a few hours to read the bill. The patriot act was introduced in this manner. No one had time to read it, and no one wanted to seem unpatriotic by not voting for it. So this will put an end to stuff like that. They will be forced to make laws that are less complex and shorter, otherwise they can't get them passed. Sounds good to me.
They also have another piece of legislation you all would probably want to see passed. HR 1359 which has been brought forth by John Shadegg of AZ. Basically it makes congress list which of the 20 congressional powers gives congress the authority to pass whatever law that they do. So every time they vote on new legislation, they have to specifically mention where they are getting that power from in the constitution.
