Dr Paul speaks a lot of how the Republican Party used to be. It has been said a lot that President Lincoln re-founded America with the invasion of the Southern states.

I believe that after 9/11 President Bush re-founded the Republican Party. I say that because of the way the Party used to be and this document from the GOP (http://www.gop.com/) website: 2004 Platform (http://www.gop.com/images/2004platform.pdf).

Winning the War on Terror …
because our government’s most solemn duty is to keep its citizens safe.

Ushering in an Ownership Era …
because a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit will keep our economy strong and provide more opportunities for workers and families.

Building an Innovative Economy to Compete in the World …
because America can compete with anyone, anywhere, thanks to our entrepreneurs and risk-takers who keep us on the cutting edge of technology and commerce.

Strengthening Our Communities …
because our children deserve to grow up in an America in which all their hopes and dreams can come true.

Protecting Our Families …
because we respect the family’s role as a touchstone of stability and strength in an ever changing world.

Party Platforms Over The Years (http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/platforms.php)

I've looked through the Republican Party platforms and the transition seems gradual but definite. Democrats and Republicans are more and more socialist in their policies.

Where is the stopping point? Where is the reality check?

We have seen time and again that the American public has swallowed the idea that Government has to take care of them and everything else. They fear being without Big Brother. They cannot fathom making decisions their own selves. I would dare say that a lot of Americans lack the capacity to even make their own way seeing that we have had this nanny Government for so long.

It's like getting acclimatized to living in prison... first, you hate it - you can't stand it, then you begin to accept it - trying to make the best of it, then you begin to like it - life isn't so bad and finally, you can't be on the outside - you fear freedom not knowing how to take care of yourself.

How long before we are pardoned? How long before we realize that we have been jailed for crimes that we did not commit? How long will America sleep in peace and security before she wakes to stand on her foundation of freedom and liberty?
