Ron Paul has definitely been a MAJOR catalyst for something much bigger than one election. The election is just one battle. A big one, yes, but there will be more to fight. This movement WILL and MUST continue whatever the outcome of this election.

The more I understand of what is happening in this country, the more I realize what a strong, courageous, and good man Ron Paul is. Never in my life did I think I would have the opportunity to vote for a man of his character. If we choose to though, we all can be individuals of the same character and fight just as hard as the Good Doctor! It's up to each ONE of us.

I agree, It is our civic duty to infultrate the ranks of the Repulicans.
We need to take them over from the inside.
That is the only way we can change the course of the country. It will take many of us not just one man.
win or loose we need to keep in contact after this election!

I am changing my Political Science major to psychology.

Not really, but I want nothing to do with politics even though I have it as a minor with an option to major along with a major in history. Politics is too dirty for me. I would punch those jerks, or I would sound like that angry Ron Paul caller last night, which is never good for a woman.

It will accompany a second major, of which I'm unsure of at this time. Why? Because I don't know if I'll be able to handle it. ;)

i wanted to enter politics in some fashion my whole life but i didn't think i could live a life of complete frustration. this is of course before i learned of Dr. Paul's singular battle for the last 30 years. i never knew there was still a patriot in america. i assumed that all of them were sellouts, i guess that is what i get for assuming. i am 31 years old and was about to enter graduate school for history but i am now going to get a quick bachelors in poli-sci just so i can make this my new purpose in life. i beg all of you to join me so we can give this AMAZING man the backup he needs. if Ron Paul can do it alone how can we NOT do it together?

That is exactly how I feel. That's why I said I was going to major in psychology instead, we are going to need just watching this election.

I can't even tolerate my professor's. We argue over the constitutionality of laws and it is total brainwash for all the idiots who just need credits. I makes my heart palpitate and I start breathing fire. That's why I will probably just minor in it and continue with History, my first love. I love my politics, I just hate everyone else's.

Ron Paul and I were meant to be, I mean him the president and me the student. I never thought there was a single soul who gave a damn about the constitution. I would get enraged over something like seatbelt laws and no one else seemed to care. They don't care about anything. It is shocking, and then I heard his voice and it was saying "abolish the IRS" and I was in love. Of course I checked his voting record after I heard that and I knew, he was the next president. I never knew there was so many of us. Thank God for Ron Paul and all these people who support him.

I could never do it, too private, too introverted, but for those of you who can...I admire you and will vote for you (if I can.)

or apply pressure to your current congressman to vote constitutionally

I hand-delivered a letter to his office in my hometown asking him about the Federal Reserve, the CFR, The Trilateral Commission, the Bilderbergers etc. and the sovereignty of our country.

Of course, I never got a straight answer from him, so I ran for congress against him.

We had a live, televised debate on the biggest station in the district, and he brought up the letter, which I was going to anyway. I got to address those issues to a live audience in the tens of thousands. That debate was the biggest factor for me getting the 39,000 votes that I did.

So, set your congressman up with a letter, first. Give them a fair chance to address your concerns. If you don't get a satisfactory answer. RUN AGAINST THEM!

I'm seriously considering it, 4 or five years down the road. I'm definitely going to stay active with the local republican groups in my area to bring the party back to it's roots.

I, personally, am a bit too on the introverted side to become a politician. However, I do think the next step in all this is to continue on. This is not about Ron Paul, but about his message.

We need to organize in some manner. We need to bring back the REAL meaning to "conservative". And, it needs to start at the local level and work on up. For me, that means finding out how my local elected officials are voting, and voicing my opinion. And making sure other local constituents are doing the same. Perhaps via a sub forum here for my state would be a good step. We can discuss who is running for what, and what the best approach is for being truly conservative on the issue. None of this neocon stuff, none of this nation building, none of this stuff to unconstitutionally take away our liberties. And don't even get me started on social security - whose very title is but an oxymoron to Generation X and younger. We the people need to take back OUR government.

While I personally may not have the personality to run, I will offer support in many other ways. And I intend on doing so. No more apathy for me. I won't live in a socialist society, nor a totalitarian one. It would be a slap in the face to all those who died for our country. Moreover, it would be a slap in the face to my ancestors who lost everything in coming here to ensure *I* would live a free life.

Indeed, 6-7 years down the road it would be in my best interest to run and win an office.

City Council definately then move quickly to become mayor, i do have a good education package which dont require the government to be on your backs - personal investing.

Honestly guys, I like where your head is, but that's not the way to do it. If you want to be a politician, the best thing to do would probably be something like an undergraduate degree in economics or finance, and then a JD (law.) You won't learn anything about the economy in political science classes.

Absolutely not.

I've seen a whole lotta comments on this board from people I wouldn't want anywhere near anything of value.

The sane ones should consider running or supporting those who do. But, it doesn't help to have the nuts run.

Some of the best things you can do is to remain active in the GOP. If 1/10th of Paul supporters remain active in their local GOP orgs it will have a HUGE impact on the direction the party moves. You can help to shape the party platform at the prescient level. One thing being involved in this campaign has taught me is how much power can be exerted at the local level, and how much impact it has. Members of my local meetup group have had meeting with high-level state politicians over some issues not directly related to the campaign, but with the same value set, and some of the older "blue hairs" in the local GOP are starting to consider Dr. Paul a viable option. If we can change the direction of the party, it just might not be to late to save this country from what will come it it keeps going the direction it is. It won't be pretty.

I'm considering a run for City Council. Start small and work my way up to state and maybe national.

I really like Ron Paul's platform but since most of it consists of giving power to the states, what kind of platform would somebody run on when running for city or state government?

If somebody could please send me a message or reply on here with some advice I would love it.
