Why, O Why, must he always wear the most ill-fitted suits, and butt ugly ties form JC Penny. Someone needs to take him to Brooks Brothers and get a tailored suit. He looks like my grandpa

It may not be the sharpest suit he's ever worn (actually Huck's doesn't look that much better), but at least one can never accuse RP of being an empty suit, unlike the others on that stage.

Send him $500, with a note saying that you would like it to be spent on a new suit for him if possible. Problem solved. ~_^

Don't bother, I sent two Hermes ties (it's a good brand) to Lake Jackson, haven't seen them on yet...probably thrown in the trash compactor. No shame in having him as pimpin' as Romney.

Agreed. Romney looks spiffy -- I'm voting for him now!

I don't think Ron's too concerned about fashion. That's one of the things I love about him. He's concerned with running the country.

ok - I'll catch him at his Clute, TX campaign office and take his measurements. I'll get him a nice Italian suit, hem it, and take in the seat.

Color? Charcoal Gray, navy pinstripe?

I don't care all that much about the clothes issue. However, his people should atleast get him in a mid-range suit that is properly tailored.

The bottom of your shirt sleeve is supposed to poke out a little from the jacket sleeves. Look how long his jacket sleeves are here:

Edit: I can't get this picture to be big enough to demonstrate my point. :(

I am a woman, I never noticed. If your grandpa dresses like that I am guessing it is better than mine. He wears like those shirts with dragons going across them in a pair of pleeted pants with a cowboy hat. LMAO, it's funny just thinking about him.

I thought his tie was unusually nice last night. He's worn it a few times this month, and I like it.

The biggest thing I noticed last night was the way his jacket collar was standing a couple of inches away from his shirt collar at the back of his neck. I'm sorry to point this out since I love Ron, but that's what Paul Fussell called "Prole Jacket Gape."

Very profitable investment. $1,000 bucks to dress up Ron Paul will get us an easy 1-2% in the polls.

Urgent!

Ron Paul does not need a hair stylist, make up artist, or some Entertainment Tonight flake telling him how to dress. Threads like this reflect the type of extreme shallowness that has been hurting America and should be ignored.

Are you an idiot? Seriously?

Yes we get that America is shallow which is indeed why we are supporting Ron paul.

But to attempt to ignore the majority of voters is NOT a way to win elections.

And unfortunately a great number of people DO vote based upon looks and personality. You don't think that Romney is doing so well because of his "platform" do you?!?!

Please grow up and get in the real world: it's all marketing.

+1. what happened to his suit from the last spring and early summer debates?Guess those were spring/summer suits? And yea, I agree, they were nice - the grey one, the dark navy, and one that was deep charcoal.

I agree.

I think that his attire helps his image. Politicians go to great lengths to look like someone that the average person can identify with. They always have to do battle with their true personality.........

Ron Paul is the authentic item.

I really don't understand - we all know that his message is what locked us in, yet we say that he needs a speech coach. We love his honesty and his integrity but we say that he needs to look like Mitt Romney.

Dressing Ron Paul isn't our responsibility. It won't help anyway. He needs exposure from the media. They aren't excluding him because of his suit - They are excluding him because of his message.

We need to get that message out there.

The fact is everyone makes subconscious judgments -- and many also make conscious ones -- about people based on their appearance. Whether they "should" or not is irrelevant.

I noticed the Prole Gap too. Huck also had it.

As I was watching, I was wondering how much it would cost to have someone from J. Press in DC go out to Arlington and tell Ron to stand still for a few minutes and take some measurements.

I have a sneaking feeling that this might be intentional. I remember a line from the movie Gladiator where one of the Senators is advising the Emperor on how to deal with his enemies by feigning weakness and then striking at just the right moment.

"I have been told of a certain sea snake which has a very unusual method of attracting its prey. It will lie at the bottom of the ocean as if wounded. Then its enemies will approach, and yet it will lie quite still. And then its enemies will take little bites of it, and yet it remains still"

Now it is possible that he just has really bad taste and nobody around him notices, but I get a gut feeling that Dr. Paul is a lot more shrewd than people give him credit for. His question to McCain last night is what really got me thinking.

Look at youtube in a couple of hisHdebates.. he really looked sharp and the best dressed man in 2 of the debates..

I don't know what happened last night because he didn't dress better than my grandpa. It was absolutely awful.. That tie was hideous.

Those are Don Shula Pants!!

Ron was a stone cold pimp back in those days.

I don't think anyone here spends more than about 30 seconds a month thinking about this, but image/perception is half, or even more than half the battle with the retarded american public.

He should just drop in Paul Stuart next time he swings by NYC -- they have nice threads!

This whole thread makes me laugh because it makes me think of GOB from the show "Arrested Development"

"Yeah, the guy in the $5000 suit is gonna lose in a debate to the country doctor...COME ON!" lol

I do agree that he could wear a nicer suit though (especially for TV). But I don't think it's in his nature to care.

for those wondering who GOB is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpjkMUgmboI#
