Ron Paul’s simple campaign message of Peace and Freedom may be catching on. Often touted for using the internet more effectively than his counterparts, GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul has Alexa.com ratings that top all other candidates. Alexa.com is a search engine that loosely rates websites based on web traffic.

On its own the Alexa.com search wouldn’t seem so important, but Paul’s You/Tube popularity and surge in fundraising this last quarter, indicate that the candidate is gaining true momentum.

Paul’s website tracks above his Republican counter parts followed by Mitt Romney’s website in a distant second place leading a close pack of candidates. Paul’s website is also graphing above his Democratic rivals, with Obama and Edwards neck and neck for second place, and Clinton’s website a close third place among Democrats.

Alexa.com graphs and rankings are not a full proof method of determining a websites traffic but may help shed some extra light on the campaign by adding another perspective to observe the race from. It is still very early in the race but it is clear that the internet has become more influential in this presidential election than in previous races.

This graph shows the current website dynamics at this moment. By inputting the websites of the other candidates a comparison can be made at this moment in time. Paul’s campaign is in blue.

The following traffic rankings cover a longer period of time as opposed to the graph, which gives a current snapshot of the rankings, so the rankings are slightly different. Most notably the rankings do not reflect John Edwards sudden jump on Alexa.com or the slight sagging of Obama’s and Clinton’s websites recently.

Barackobama.com 21,384

Hillaryclinton.com 21,689

Ronpaul2008.com 22,471

Mittromney.com 65,163

Joinrudy2008.com 107,328

Johnmccain.com 118,240

Teamtancredo.com 303,707

Rankings and graph positions are constantly changing and are not immune from manipulation.

You've just gotta believe that the true support is somewhere between the online support and the polls. It's just logical.

I think the disparity is a function of two different groups being measured: those who know who Ron Paul is and those who don't.

Among people who know who he is and what he stands for, Paul does exceedingly well.

Ergo, our job is to inform people! And we are.

Now freelance, you can't expect to get anywhere with this...'logic'...it just doesn't make sense.
